super cool party game with a lot of character. all of the playable characters have unique little death animations that i really like, and there's unlockable costumes and characters that encourage playing more. the game plays super well and is simple but can really let you do some crazy stuff with it's power ups and little nuances to the combat. it's super neat that you can make builds with the power ups the game gives you and that they carry over between rounds, and they're definitely one of the big parts that make the fun of the game. at the same time a couple of the powerups can sometimes be a little overtuned. it wouldn't be an issue if the game made everyone else as overpowered in the game when you're playing, but sometimes you'll pick up 4 powerups in a row and it'll be the shitty powerdown that makes your controls reversed for a few seconds and you'll have no powerups for the whole game. that's really my only issue though, it's a great time if you can get a group together and it's especially good if you can take advantage of the fact this game allows for 6 player coop. the game is truly most chaotic st this level but in general it's easy enough to pick up and play that anyone can jump in and have fun

super fun super solid 3d platformer with a lot of fun gimmicks. i ended up going through and catching all of the monkeys to get the true ending, goes to show how much fun i was having with this because i just wanted more ape escape. it also just has a lot of character with it's cheesy voice acting, saturday morning cartoon story, a really charming artstyle, and music that unexpectedly goes so insane. only thing i'd really say was frustrating were some weird platforming things at a couple points and a handful of moments where the camera was a little weird, but honestly overall i didn't really have too many issues with either of these things, i felt like they actually worked really well here which was something i wasn't expecting from a 3d platformer like this. definitely a series i can't wait to play more of

unsure if this is something i'll come back to. i like scott pilgrim a lot and this game definitely has the style, personality, vibes, etc. but god as a video game it is just kinda lame. it takes way too long to unlock new moves, it takes way too long to kill enemies (not because of health amount but because of how hitting enemies is in this game), it feels way too easy to die and get lost when playing with friends, idk man. it seems like it has potential to play well and can have moments where it's a little fun but it needs to be better mechanically. when i played this with a couple other friends we got up to level 4 i think, game overed, and then our other plans for the day were starting so we put this game down and never came back. maybe i'll have to give it another shot in the future because in my mind i would at least like to beat this game with some other people

good classic popcap gaming. one of those games ive never beaten until i just sat my ass down and just went through it. it is a game that's kinda hard for me to play in long stretches though because it's a little easy and sometimes just waiting through levels until winning, but there's plenty of stuff to mess around with in this game to keep things fresh. i might revisit this one and go back and play through all of the bonus content outside of the main adventure mode, i love how most popcap games only just get started once you beat the base game and the real challenge comes from the extras so the rating could be subject to change in the future
