i went into this game not expecting to enjoy it, as i wasn't one for text heavy games but. my god. this is some of the best writing i've seen for a singleplayer experience. the world is so rich and alive and it's been a long time since i found myself attached to characters like these. please play this game.

a beautiful use of the source engine to convey a depressing story. dear esther deals with both the heavy topics of loss and guilt while letting players explore something beautiful. the game itself is short, but enjoyable
