got to this game in a dragon quest marathon not really expecting much from this one, but actually playing it ended up making it one of my favorite jrpgs of all time, close perfection of the regular fantasy rpg template

this is THE nes rpg.
At first I didn't see what was so special about it compared to other rpgs at the time but midway through it just clicked, Absolute classic.

Easily my favorite main series mario game.
It has the most fun movement, the coolest areas thematically, they all feel so alive with every single shine sprite making the area more and more clean as you progress until the 8th where everything is back to normal. Some great music, really fun secrets, the most to do in any hubworld in a mario game to date. Not a huge fan of the blue coins but I don't mind doing them because it lets me explore the amazing areas more. Some people really do just need to git gud, this game's a masterpiece.
