I've made the decision to recently get the platinum achievement in all the dark souls games. I played this one when it came to pc 10 years ago but i never really beat it.

This time around I did. What a fantasy and a world. The bosses on the other hand are a product of their time. Having played all the other souls games seeing how simple these bosses was surprising. I wan never stuck on any boss besides the nightmare bed of chaos is. The areas were all fine. I never found myself upset at the level design on any of them. I see alot of bad talk about tomb of giants and blighttown and others. Those zones all have there place. Tomb of giants changes the formula and forcing you to play different from the first half of game. Speaking on that... The latter half of the game is by far weaker than the first half. I cant really explain why but I feel like they just forced out the last half. The music was all good and had its place. Most notably Gwynn's fight. Overall very good game. I enjoyed all 60 hours and my three and a half playthroughs.
