truly the most rhethorical question

no idea what happened here, you had a massive budget, all the original VA's and everything, yet the writing took so many steps back, combat is braindead, and the grinding is just the worst, creating a hodge podge of frustration

an incredibly immersive and unforgettable experience, and also a dickish cliffhanger that I will never recover from

one of the most special experiences i've had in my life that I will never forget

took me a while to get going but eventually everything just clicked and I had a blast of a time, incredibly immersive and almost everything you do has consequences

yeah this still holds up shockingly well

also featuring my man Ryo Hazuki

mr evrart is still helping me find my gun

fucking godawful, lacks anything that made the original game stand out and shine, instead of well designed interiors most of the game takes place in boring, flat exterior levels with wide open areas

more of the main game more or less, almost on par with the actual main game and genuinely a better followup than any of the actual sequels

more of fear 2 but somehow even more boring and meaningless

disappointing and middling sequel to otherwise one of the finest first person shooters out there, instead of letting you piece the story together from phone calls like in the first game, the sequel is overly cinematic and relies Heavily on shock content to mask how shallow and pointless the actual plot is, level design and actual shooting being Much weaker not helping the matter at all

love how the sequel ignores everything I liked about the first game and doubles down on more gunplay that's somehow worse, a batshit insane story that goes nowhere, and dumbing down every character from grounded realistic ones to borderline caricatures, couple levels like the museum are neat but nearly everything about this is a direct downgrade to original

still holds up as one of the best horror games of the 7th gen and the brawling combat is excellent, highly recommend playing on hard difficulty for the best intended experience

2008

first game to sell 1 trillion copies

don't really care if FF fans are gonna crucify me for this but XIII-2 is probably one of my favourite mainline FF games tied with XII and IX
