frankly a mid prequel to an exceptional game that doesn't add anything of note or worth to the overall universe

story is a sloppy mess and takes away any control from the player to actually decide what the fuck is even happening, Jensen does everything for you in every cutscene and the only two choices you have is the fate of an unimportant NPC and one of four terrible endings

the gameplay is Fine but you can bypass 90% of the game by finding a nearby vent and the game doesn't punish the player enough for combat making the game a cakewalk even on highest difficulty, bosses are all genuinely abysmal and I do not particularly enjoy replaying this game every time I try to

genuinely a near perfect remake even if it took a long ass time to release, retains the spirit of the original while also including features from the sequel and other recent games like Prey

only nitpicks are lack of some settings especially regarding controls

you have to say "lifeline" with a really thick racist asian accent for the game to pick up on you without issues

if Paul Verhoeven directed an fps game and made every gunfight feel like a gib scene from Robocop 1

the more racist duke 3d that has pretty sick weapons

unbelievably janky even with the fan patches, clearly unfinished and combat isn't exactly thrilling

yet I love the game to death and consider it one of the best PC classics of it's time, despite it's unfortunately questionable portrayal of asian people

jesus fucking christ how did this get greenlit what

extremely buggy and unenjoyable reskin of jagged alliance set within a non canonical timeline of fallout, very linear, game doesn't explain half the mechanics to you at all, saves corrupt constantly and it just pales in comparison to 1 and 2

objectively the best part of FO3 and it shocks me that this worldbuilding and writing co-exists within FO3

pretty good honestly and has more meaningful decisions than anything else in the main story

more of the main story equals more sleep inducing writing and corridor shooting damage sponges

lore and some of the dialogue is neat and fun but the gameplay is dry even if it's clearly a parody of shooters of it's time (making fun of something by Being what you make fun of isn't funny, it just makes you equally as bad)
