Smartly designed for the one-hourish experience it is. I appreciate that the choices you can make are all very small and more about trying to reckon with the main character than actively creating a new story. Would be curious to go back in sometime and try some things differently and very curious to see what Doc does next.

This was a great, engaging little story with a fascinating sense of inevitability. I was sobbing at one point towards the end of the game, and then I misread the final set of instructions and spent a solid five minutes flinging items around the kitchen thinking I had to place them on the table very precisely and was just terrible at the janky controls, only to realize after WAY too long that it was actually the dining room table I was supposed to put them on. So uh...that kind of blunted the ending for me.

We play as a pig farmer who uses his animals to dispose of the remains of the bodies left behind by the mafia who have grown tired of doing this and have to face the consequences. The premise is awesome, the execution isn't bad, but it didn't blow me away either.

It's okay if you have little more than an hour to kill and you want somethign that requires zero effort. Other than that, can't really say anything nice about it.

very rough narrative experience. Short and interesting. Interesting premise and decent voice acting, which I found surprising. Really bad controls and no explanation. Kinda anticlimactic.

A short story that could do really well as a short film. Small interactive moments break up the dialogue between a farmer and an old friend as the farmer contemplates the mistakes in his life.

Games With Gold's swan song has given this hidden gem of indie gaming in recent years. You control a mysterious man who asks a favor to the person who takes care of the farm with him, and that's all you should know! It's a short experience with progressive tension as you try to figure out what's happening. I love games like this because they only serve the purpose of having good, deep writing.

Pretty good! It is a pretty short game, most people finishing it in around 40 mins to an hour, I finished it in around an hour and 30 because I was messing around the place a bit

The story is definitely a highlight and maybe I was just a little slow to catch on, but the ending was quite unexpected, but in a good way. (I'm being vague about it to avoid spoilers, however there are already a couple Backloggd reviews on here that aren't tagged, so be weary of that I guess). This just gives the game a replayability factor of at least one more playthrough once you understand what's going on

I've seen some people on here describe this game as a walking sim, and they're kinda right? But not entirely... In terms of walking sims, it's more akin to something like Firewatch and less like Gone Home or Edith Finch. Like in Firewatch, you get to play through these "scenarios" where a majority of the gameplay really just consists of listening to two people talk to each other, there are a couple mini games sprinkled here and there, but overall, its very light on gameplay

In terms of gameplay, the most fun I had was trying to break some of the scenarios by screwing around and clipping into things. The funniest instance was when I was able to get on top of the dude's car while he was having a serious conversation with the farmer (the player)

There's really not much else to say tbh. The writing and voice acting are pretty stellar, but this game really could have used more memorable music. That's probably the only thing it was lacking-- experience-wise, anyway. Graphics were okay too

Overall, I'd say its well made, but just "okay" in the grand scheme of games similar to this. Still enjoyed it tho! I guess final thoughts are that this game is ridiculously easy to 100%. I don't even care about achievements all too much, but I got a good bulk of it in my first playthrough so I'd say go for this one, achievement hunters!

é uma curta experiência interessante. não é pra todo mundo, definitivamente. vale a jogada.

A decent narrative with surprisingly solid voice acting. The gameplay is simple and the graphics are unimpressive but I enjoyed my incredibly short time with this game.

A little narrative game, from the perspective of a farmer which used to do some deals with the Mafia.
It brings up a lot of emotional talk, about life.

I had to re-play it, and it's still very enjoyable.

o que é tirado. se faz algum sentido, é um tipo de dobradinha boa com o filme "cerrar los ojos", desaparecer

Wonderful short narrative experience. Worth your money and time.

great writing and voice acting, found it slightly boring as far as gameplay goes though and would have appreciated a little bit more activity, even if it was just walking around

Knowing what’s coming isn’t everything.

A gem of story telling. It hooks you in at the start with the question "why is he quitting". You go down the memory lane with the protagonist until right before the end when everything comes together, and your curiosity is replaced by an overwhelming sympathy. The protagonist's voice resembles old De Niro in The Irishman, especially the stutter, which leads me to drawing more parallel between the two: lonely old man, shunned by his own child, no purpose or joy in life. The PC port sadly is bit shoddy. I got stuck a few times, had to redo certain sections, and there's one part of the game where I simply had no idea how to complete using mouse and keyboard so I resorted to controller.

I hate to be harsh on something that came from a genuine, human place but Adios is a pretty complete failure. There's not a lot to say other than that this shouldn't be a video game in its current state. Adios being a video game adds nothing to it; It takes away quite a bit as it turns out. The visual ugliness takes the player out of the experience constantly. The inconsistent writing is sometimes cringeworthy. The "game-y" elements are half-hearted at best (why was that fishing thing there to begin with and why did it take what felt like several years to complete). The story is, overall, quite boring but the dialogue has sparks of humanity that keep you invested. The story that's being told holds plenty of merit but despite its short runtime, Aidos was just a waste of a fine premise and ended up being a slog. I hope the team at Mischief continues working because clearly, they've got heart. Just remember why video games are special and don't be afraid to invest in the art form, which you obviously care about.

I generally do not like 'story-driven' games. There are definitely games I've played with good writing, as well as games where the gameplay justifies having a story. But I've never played anything where I'd say the writing on its own makes the game worth going through. But I want to be convinced otherwise. I want to play a game where I'm kinda meh on the mechanics but the narrative keeps me going. I want to be proven that games can be narratively compelling without any interactive assistance.

Adios didn't convince me.

Non dovrebbe essere un gioco.

Short little first-person narrative. Well written and acted (always great to hear D.C. Douglas) with a couple of powerful scenes that use the medium meaningfully. Not a whole lot to say beyond that.

Fantastic "walking sim"! The moment you realize why the farmer is making his decision hits you like a gut punch.

its crazy that doc might be one of the best game writers in the indie scene

Good narrative, great voice acting. Wish the story wasn't so linear and there would be multiple endings based on the text choices, as some of them are grayed out (thought that I had to do or find something specific to unlock them, but nah it's just Ol` McDonald's more spicy thoughts). Try it if you wanna burn an hour or two.

Adios is a cinematic first-person game where you take the role of a pig farmer who has to let the mob use his pigs as a way to dispose of bodies. You relive the day when he finally decided that he is done with it and what is going to be his last day.

The story is emotional, yet still very short (you will finish the game in an hour) and forgettable. You spend the whole time doing chores and talking to your old friend who, in the end, will be your killer. He tries to convince you to change your mind, since he knows that after ending up with the mob, there isn't a way out.
During the story you will find out why he decided that he can't do that anymore and why he has to dispose of the bodies.
The atmosphere gives you the feel of loneliness and emptiness the main character feels and how he has already accepted his fate, knowing what the consequences are, but he doesn't care as he wants to do at least one good thing before he leaves this world.
Voice acting is the best part of the game, but the character models aren't that good, and the character models are what you're gonna look at the most.
This game has dialog choices to keep players more engaged through the story, but unfortunately, most of the time you're limited to only one dialog option, which doesn't make sense as two of them are presented, but one of them is grayed out. So, even though you have the freedom to choose what the main character will say, most of the time, the prior choices heavily limit your next dialog options by giving you only one of the two options available.
The subtitles aren't always accurate, sometimes they leave out a part of the sentence, probably because they wanted to put the whole sentence the “person A” says on the screen, before the “person B” replies.

All in all, a very short experience that, in my opinion, isn't worth the full price, nor anything above 50% of the initial price. The only thing left to say to this game is Adios.

It’s a weird as hell game with a unique premise and a quiet story. It’s not long, has replay value (although I didn’t bother replaying), and was generally a positive experience.
