I didn't get too much out of this playing on keyboard. I switched the steering controls to the mouse and it still wasn't all that immersive or fun. But I saw an old stream of @sexualjumanji playing with the external pedal & steering wheel. And after that it looked like the only way to play. Maybe one day I'll get that setup, but until then I'll shelve this one.

Pretty fun game. Very good for listening to music or a podcast

base game: much like its predecessor, ats requires some heavy dlc dedication for one to spend more hours on it. one thing it definitely doesn't do nearly as well as ets2 is realism; you may even say it's like if you got a dozen polish nerds to make a game out of google street view pictures, because IT LITERALLY IS. you'll like it if you're a fan of the games like me but it definitely won't convince any of the skeptics.

relaxing but gets boring after about one run

Graphically it is a lot better than ETS2, but for obvious reasons. But as a community I still think ETS2 is much better, this game is fantastic however if you love American trucks and just want to go for a drive in the desert.

La versión estadounidense de uno de los mejores simuladores de conducción jamás hechos por SCS Software, no solo lleva años lanzando contenido y mejorando su juego base con actualizaciones gratuitas, sino que seguirá este mismo camino por muchos años más.

I can download mods that make my truck look like Optimus Prime

Lost many hours just playing this and watching youtube.

Its like Euro Truck Simlator but American.

Relaxing truck game, honk honk vroom vroom. Fun for VCs with frens. I bough a trucker hat to play this game.

A better experience once you mod it for sure.

i love driving through western america :)

There ain't no troubles when you are virtual truckin' on a long and lonesome highway

I actually find it more fun than ETS2. The enviroment is just more exciting for me. And more nostalgic as I played 18 Wheels of Steel.

Would be way better if the DLC didn't cost a billion dollars

+ Great sequel to ETS2.
+ Was a bit lackluster when I came out, now in a much better state.
- American trucks seem to take up even more screen area in cockpit camera, which makes it less enjoyable to drive around if you want to look at something else other than the dashboard.

I play this whenever I wanna die and it has a 100% success rate of keeping me alive

First play and I reversed into a Tesla, 8/10.

"A Weak Driving Simulator For Newcomers"

I'll go ahead and say this was my first driving simulator game. I had never been interested in the genre before, but happened to have this game as a leftover from a bundle a while back so I figured I would give it a shot. It has a a plethora of features and seems very deep in terms of customization and "realism" when it comes to delivering cargo, but at the end of the day, it didn't sway me into liking the genre. This isn't to say the game is inherently bad, as many fans of the genre have pointed out that it is actually very fun and relaxing. This review serves more as a statement from a non-simulator game fan to other people who are unfamiliar with the genre.

I ran into some issues with AI drivers that would block my way from a route, and was unable to get out of the situation without restarting the drive itself. This was pretty frustrating for me as I was starting to get a bit immersed into the experience despite not really understanding the full mechanics, but after that scenario I was put off.

Try this game out if you think you will be into the type of game it is, but don't expect it to be anything other than the title suggests! I personally would Not Recommend it to anyone who is on the fence about trying out driving simulator games, as it feels like a genre you either know you like or know you dislike off the bat. For a starting player, this was a pretty bad experience overall, and I don't think I will want to continue with this one.

Final Verdict: 2/10 (Bad)
