Marketing via fun and engaging experience.
In the middle of a pandemic.
Bravo, Devolver đź‘Ť

advertisements for shit i don't care about but fun

I played only for the fall guys area

La mejor campaña de marketing de la historia, no es mas que una broma pero tiene su gracia.

A different kind of ad that it somehow worked.

A free game meant to showcase publisher Devolver Digital’s upcoming (as of its release) games.

It’s short and fun, so play it when you have time to kill.

(Played Before 2023)
Marketing gimmick, nothing really special or super interesting.
Cool for about five minutes but completely pointless to play nowadays.

It's beautiful, but it's just a marketing ploy.

Finalmente eu fui em uma exposição de games sem sair de casa

While certainly unique, the "game" or marketing material (whatever you want to call it) runs very poorly, even when meeting recommended specs (just barely in the case of my system, and even then, couldn't get the thing hitting a consistent 60FPS even with graphical settings dramatically reduced). If the thing ran better, that would be nice, but for a free little game-thing that has you trek about an abandoned expo center, shooting a t-shirt cannon at security drones, it isn't half bad. Only takes an hour to 100% if even that, so it's worth giving a go for the hell of it.

Ganz witzige Idee. Mal was anderes als die ganzen Streams.

It's just an over-glorified advertising that has some shockingly good controls for a free game.

Os cara fez um jogo pra divulgar os jogos deles

Marketing ta em outro nĂvel

For something that was free, I can't really complain too much. Sure it's practically a sneaky way to get you to watch their promotional material, but they clearly had a lot of fun doing it. It's weird to me that something like this has so much polish and care for a seemingly one-off event game. Would love to see this concept brought to VR.

Devolver's schtick has really worn thin, man.

que sentido tiene este juego más allá de poner anuncios de juegos ya anunciados. en plan porque la gente dio visto bueno a esta mierda.

Digital E3 with Serious Sam 4! It was amazing! Great idea, all companies need to follow an example.

This is an ad, but the joke's on you because I'm broke.

i mean you just walk around and watch trailers, but it was a nice idea

Cool way of announcing new games when we were in the middle of a pandemic. Super refreshing - wish they'd do this again.

i dont remember much from this game, in fact i dont remember anything about it, but i remember feeling satisfied

It's just an advertisement, but the good kind.

If you want a game to celebrate your lord and savior devolver digital play devolver bootleg instead

It's ultimately a promotional tool for Devolver Digital's games, but still a pretty cool and unique way of doing it.

Pretty nifty. I'd enjoy the yearly E3 a lot more if it was like this instead of just a bunch of suits on stage.

Devolver Digital has been getting attention for being a very socially aware publisher and having inventive panels at the annual E3 for some time now. They love to subvert expectations and have been presenting some really unique stuff in their marketing. With E3 pretty much falling flat this year I'm genuinely impressed how well they managed to work around that and use it in their favor by releasing this interactive presentation instead.

Devolverland Expo is a short first-person stealth game where you infiltrate the shut-down convention center to find out about the upcoming games. It looks very polished and even though the game announcements are the core of this whole thing the gameplay is still pretty engaging.
You'll find yourself sneaking around robots and dodging lasers as you explore one big game booth after another and subsequently get to watch video versions of what would have been the announcements on stage would E3 have happened.
It worked really well and transferred the announcements pretty seamlessly into this short videogame.

None of the announced games really look that amazing to me. I'm excited for Carrion, but I already knew about that game beforehand. I'm mildly interested in Disc Room which was one of the announcements that were somewhat hidden out of sight. But Fall Guys was probably the only one I'm actually looking forward to without having already had it on my radar.

As far as the presentation goes though I'm honestly impressed at Devolver Digital's ingenuity. This was a fun little game in itself and a very engaging way at getting a sneak peek at upcoming games.
