Rareware fans should learn their place

I'm not sure if I'd like this game more or less if I didn't get all the references - because that's all the game is, just a ton of references. The Playstation and SEGA Saturn rock N64's shit any day of the week.

where it all started. the best N64 game

(5-year-old's review, typed by her dad)

My favorite level is the Christmas one and my favorite thing about doing that is flying up to the mooooonnnn!

I love this game, it was such a fun little platformer and a beautiful call back to all things N64. There's not much special about the gameplay itself, but it is fun. The references to a lot of my favorite games was in this game and had me fall in love with it

cute cute cute cute

Easy to the point where it'd be insulting if it wasn't so adorable and nostalgic. cute/10

Played on Linux through WINE.

This was a cute little n64 throwback. If you don't have any nostalgia for N64 graphics, you probably won't get much out of this. My only real issue was that once you finish a level, it sends you back to the level select screen, which is a book, but it sends you to the first page so you have to scroll back through all the level pages you've done to get to the next one. Also the camera can get stuck on things, especially in the haunted mansion level, but to be fair that's part of the n64 nostalgia.

Me playing Macbat 64: 😃

Me playing the bonus levels: 😐

It's a simple, cute little 3D plataformer. I know the camera was trying to emulate the N64 cameras but it's terrible sometimes, but not that big of a deal since the game is mostly puzzles.
It's worth it for the price.

I'm so glad Siactro lowered the price of this game to a more adequate one.

Macbat 64 takes the most N64 platformers and butchers them.

I'm particularly pissed about the Kirby 64 and Mario Kart inspired levels: as the first one is ripped of every enemy or feature resulting in an empty level, and the second one is the most basic kart experience You can ever find.

I know this is a small project, but them I would instead play the games that steal ideas from instead wasting my time with this one, even if It takes only an hour.

This game is just really nice, short and cute (:

real ones will know abt the sonic adventure 1 easter egg tho.

Macbat 64: Journey of a Nice Chap is a charming little 3D platformer with N64-style taking inspiration from games such as Banjo-Kazooie with bite-sized levels to explore and puzzles to solve. The bonus levels aren't anything to write home about, and you can experience everything in about an hour, but for what is, I say it's worth the $2.

love letter to the N64 made by the dev mostly known for toree and it's great

Like all of Siactro's games, short and to the point. Not much in terms of mechanics, the aesthetic is what carries the whole game pretty much. Some nice references to Banjo Kazooie, Kirby 64 and some misc pop culture. Some easter eggs to be found which is nice but I feel like there could be more of them since it's so easy to break boundaries — and pretty much intended after getting the infinite flight upgrade. Whatever glaring issues the game might have don't come up because of the short playtime, which is 100% a blessing.

Amusing, inoffensive, seems to largely have an appeal based in a postgame centered on boundary breaking the levels.

Reject modernity
Embrace jagged low-poly character models

It's cute and quirky, I can't say with certainty if this was due to my PC/controller but the camera was such a massive hinderance any time it wasn't fixed I'd often have to try to figure out where to go while spinning, which when there's so much platforming made a lot of the game a chore to play.

Hopefully this is fixed in their later titles because otherwise this was pretty chill time

Wonderful vibe, terrible camera. A true homage to the N64. Amateurish but charmin, and you get your money’s worth (it costs like $2). Happy it exists but probably won’t ever touch it again.

Fun balance of N64-esque jank and general weirdness in the level design / dialogue. Siactro's definitely learned a lot from this earlier entry-deducted a star for the awful camera and some arbitrary collectable placement-but overall not bad for what it is

As both a huge fan of 3D platformers and the N64, Macbat 64 feels so perfectly designed to my tastes. The compact levels are all just so pleasant to explore and would fit well as bonus rooms in Banjo-Kazooie. The low-poly look is also a great style, and something that is massively underutilized in indie games.

However, the greatest feature of MacBat 64 for me would be how the game encourages boundary breaking. 3D games of the 5th generation always had such a simple and overt way of setting the edges of environments, and it often felt like the game was enticing the player to move beyond the level's limits. The stages in Macbat 64 all perfectly carry on that vibe and later on you even get the tools to overcome invisible walls. The extra rooms and secrets hidden outside the main world are such an incredible addition, and it's heartwarming to know that someone else experienced those same mysteries when playing the 3D classics.

A very charming throwback that includes some fun world design and puzzles. I'll admit it mostly runs off of nostalgia from the era it was inspired by, but it's a good passion project that will entertain for an hour or less. I wish the problem solving had just a little more complexity.

Siactro has really found their niche with Nintendo 64 style platformers. With Macbat 64, I've played everything in their catalog, so I can confidently say this was one of my favorites. Their strength is definitely in the collectathon inspired games, and Macbat 64 shone for its level and gameplay variety. Each stage had some unique quirks and gameplay elements to make them individually endearing, and the overall package is satisfying as a result. I'd still love to see Siactro take on a larger project, but these smaller games do make for cute palette cleansers between longer games.

A fun little N64 adventure game. I just really like this developer and would love if they did a 10hr game like this. It’s fun to just play these bite sized little levels

Macbat is a delightful, if light, tour through the 64 era. While Super Kiwi 64 is a narrower but more realized slice of one 64 game (and probably the better game for it), Macbat dashes through the highlights of the platform. It is the definition of a nostalgia trip. But this an era I have a ton of nostalgia for, so I enjoyed it.

A pretty fun send up of N64 era Rare. Simple almost to excess, and can be finished in under an hour, collectables and all. Hit it up if you want some nostalgia or enjoy the low-poly aesthetic, Macbat thrives on it.

acredito q tenha sido meu primeiro jogo da Siactro

copia bem a pegada do 64, podia ser mais polido em alguns detalhes e ter uma dificuldade maior mas é oq é

Bought on the merits of Toree, and for the low cost of a toonie, but overall I would say that there is not as much substance as the Toree games, with sloppier mechanics. That being said, this game does have a lot of heart, and that counts for something! A nice little homage to the collectathons of my youth.
