This was a bit ignored because it was directly after AC Unity but hey. This game is hella fun, it felt great traversing through London. Plus you get to play as 2 characters because the protagonists are twins.

Ubisoft were trying literally anything to reinvigorate the series. I think it's pretty clear that Evie should have been the sole protag, but it's whatever.

Combat is fun, story is quite stupid, and I LOVED the Victorian London setting. One of my favorites in AC. Marx makes an appearance too lol. I got maybe 80% of the way through the game before shelving it, but I will be coming back to finish.

evie frye i will pick up this game again for you

really liked the combat system and trains

Pues otro AC.

this was my first assassins creed game, for some reason. needless to say, i was very confused.

another one that i really should pick back up. evie frye only valid brit

Apretty standard AC experience. This game came out when burnout from the franchise's unending releases was really setting in, and the evolution of the series past this point shows that. Still, Syndicate hits all the marks of a solid AC game, with a great setting, some fun characters, and well designed assassination missions. The rest of the game kind of pads out the experience, not really offering too much to hold onto.

If you're a fan of the series, this game is more of the same, and I don't think non-fans will find anything here that really converts them.

Criminally underrated...a lot of people slept on this game bc of AC Unity. If you appreciate the old style of AC games you will really enjoy this one.

For some reason one of my favorite entries in the series. I think it's because of the grappling hook.

Also one who tried to be a bit more diverse, with Evie as a co-protag, her being in a relationship wit a man of color, her brother being bisexual and a trans man and a gay man being part of the plot.

All of this comes with a "BUT", though.

Evie is great BUT a lot of story missions have to be done with her brother. She also does a lot of cleaning up after the missions that her brother kind of botched and that is taking time away from a plot that could revolve around her and not him.

She has a relationship with a MoC, but that only starts at the end of the game and only when you do a sidequest that is rather annoying.

Jacob is bi but that is only something that we know because people outright asked and not really something that is really shown. Apparently, he knew about it after Roth's death but there is never a consequence to that.

He's a bit sad but that's it. Him coming to terms with who he is and who he thought he was could have been a good bonding moment with his sister but they only bicker at each other.

That he is happy to ruin shit with Roth by his side is nice and dandy and yes they kissed but that was not exactly a romantic kiss. Just because Jacob found someone to kill with, doesn't mean he sleeps with them. At least I hope it doesn't mean that...

The trans character gives the player side quests and...that's it. That's on one hand nice - no "OMG A WOMAN! IN MEN'S CLOTHING!!!" bs but also has no impact. Said character never tells us anything about him except his name and what to do next. You spend more time with Orphan Annie than him. And Orphan Annie is a cheap tactic to get me to care, so I did what I could not to.
Still kind of liked the little brat.
Damn.

Our gay antagonist feels to me like an embodiment of gay stereotypes. He's theatrical - of course he is, he is an actor and owns a theater! He got the hots for Jacob who is 19/20 during the game while roth is what? 40? 50? so yeah, gay man preying on young men is a klischee I can live without.

Before he dies he forces a kiss on Jacob because of course he does. It was creepy gay old guys do! Or something like that. I don't know.
So the gay one got buried again - because OF COURSE this is what happens! He the antagonist...!

Anyway, the Jack the Ripper DLC was nice, too not only because of the timeskip but also because you play as Evie. Would have loved to know more about what had happened between the main game and the DLC though. Also - personally, I am sick of Jack the Ripper stories :/ But that's probably just me.

The WWI part was also nice to play. Got itself in a mutt pit by presenting me Churchill as a character I can talk to though.
Queen Victorias imperialism got at least called out (only once but...oh well.). Not doing the same for Churchill feels weird.

But then again: didn't they say that Columbus was an Assassin...? Yeeaaah....at least we got to fight the pope once (and only once, but...well.)! :D

This game interested me back when I had fallen out with this series, and I finally got around to playing it and was disappointed by how stealth had fallen to the way side of this really barebones rpg system and how the game is mindless busy work if you want to complete it 100%. Do not play this one.

I do not know what it is about this game that just...pushed me away. I got it pre-owned, crazy cheap. I thought it could be at least worth a little bit of fun. I think i got as far in as unlocking the grappling hook thing, ran up the side of a building, and (not saying that was the direct reason but it was the last thing i remeber) put the controller down and haven't played it since

Utterly boring.

é sério que vcs gostam disso?

This assassin's Creed replay has been interesting, I haven't enjoyed a single game since black flag, I didn't like this game years ago but replaying it I hate it even more

I was a huge fan of Assassin's Creed for several years. Unity was my last experience with the franchise, and it already lost its "magic". 6 years later, I bought Syndicate on PC and I was extremely convinced that it would be a fun game. You know, when Unity came out there was all this controversy about Assassin's Creed games coming out once per year and how this was not helpful for the quality of the product and for the game devs as well. When Unity came out, it was a disaster. It was full of bug, glitches, the game would crash very often, and this situation was labeled as the result of crunch and not enough development time. So Syndicate was actually the last Assassin's Creed game to come out just one year later from its predecessor. At the time it came out there were plenty of good reviews, saying it was a step forward in the right direction from Unity, and that was more enjoyable and blablabla. Now, after playing for quite some time, after 16 hours on PC, I found myself very bored. I even bought Unity on PC to try it out and... my god. I played it for like 30 hours in 5 days. Syndicate uses the same engine as Unity and it borrows many things of its gameplay, but it just feels even more unpolished that Unity was. Movement feels more clunky, stealth not as effective, London is stunning and it remains a feast for the eyes even many years later, but it feels boring to move from one place to the other. Parkour doesn't seem so well implemented as it was in other games, and that's because now we got... carriages. Don't misunderstand me, I love that Ubisoft tried to implement a new way to move around the map, but for me it just doesn't work. Every time a mission asks me to use a carriage and follow someone, or defend a NPC while driving, it bores me. The concept of switching between Jackob and Evie it's very interesting though, I liked it but I ended up playing as Evie for most parts of the game because I prefer a stealthy gameplay. I don't know, I really thought I'd like Syndicate, but while playing it, I just missed the old Assassin's Creed core gameplay. For me, Unity was already going in a direction I wasn't a fan of, and Syndicate diverted once again from what I really liked about Assassin's Creed. The story didn't interest me at all, Jacob and Evie had some charisma, but in the end I didn't like them as much I liked Ezio, Edward or even Arno. I'll give a last chance to the franchise with Assassin's Creed Origins, since my friends recommended it to me for its story.

i am so mixed on this one ngl. on one hand, i enjoyed the story even if it was a lot goofier than the rest. i think its far ahead of Unity for that but is below every other games story in terms of impact. for the first time, ever i think, the game made me empathize with both people during a whole "grr we need to split up rn!!! oh we beat the bad wanna hang out :))" song and dance. jacob is an ass (<3) but he just went through a dramatic ass breakup, give him a second. so good on Ubisoft i guess. all the stars are for all the dumb smiles this game gave me. the ending did feel a little bit.. weird to me tbh. the Assassins have generally been depicted as like... modern-day progressive regardless of time period. like no one reacting to Ned for example. so it felt kinda weird for them to see Miss Famine Queen herself and go "holy shit!! lemme do shit for you !!". it just kinda took me out of it

The gameplay, however? AWFUL. Felt like i was fighting the game more then the Templers. its hard to describe the feeling of trying to climb up a building but the game refusing to let you do it without playing it. i think they knew this and added in the grappling hook so you dont have to do parkour to get on things. in the Assassins Creed game. but that's okay because you'll barely spend any time doing parkour in this game so!!! the horse and carriage is really the only way to get around places. for a game that has so many options of travel (walking, parkour, train, boat, horse and carriage) it kinda sucks that you only use one. during a tailing mission i kept failing due to the controls and so eventually i gave up and stole a carriage and passed it first go. it feels like it almost wants to punish you for playing an assassins creed game... like an assassins creed game?

as such i really dont know how to rate this. good story but not as memorable, shitty mechanics but overall had a good time? 2 and a half is kinda inconsistent with other reviews (3 is far better then this due to its memorable story and actually functioning parkour) but it feels right. oh and another half off for everyone going "yaass girlboss" at queen victoria

Not the best Assassin's Creed game but i think the setting saved it. Industrial London was so cool to explore and both Jacob and Evie were enjoyable main characters.

I remember liking this at the time, but I’ve grown as a person since then.

played it way too long ago to come back and remember anything, but I loved it back then

Um jogo divertido, enredo ok e platina cansativa

Amo a ambientação inglesa desse jogo, um verdadeiro ac moderno, porém o gancho destruiu a valorização do parkour removendo a essência da franquia

I detest this franchise for so many reasons
