ANOTHER SUBURBAN FAMILY MORNING
GRANDMOTHER SCREAMING AT THE WALL
WE HAVE TO SHOUT ABOVE THE DIN OF OUR RICE KRISPIES
CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING AT ALL

I feel weird about this game. I'm happy to have it, I feel lucky about that cause this game is the only GH game which is still and forever stuck in the PlayStation 2. If it wasn't for the fact that it was one of the 5 GH games my brother had I would've never known of it's existance and I would've never got to play it cause my guess is that it's pretty rare.
The setlist is very good: the only problem I have is very personal and it's basically "I played this game so many times I'm tired as fuck of these songs".
Another problem I have is the game itself's content. Half the things in this game are recicled from GH2: the stages, the guitars... and then there's on the other hand the lack of side content: no bonus songs, no videos, no outfits to buy, only one unlockable character and a reduced selection of characters to choose from... you know maybe I'm asking way too much from this game: it's just a spin-off. It's not supposed to be that big cause it's not a main entry in the franchise.

But whatever, it's still a pretty good game and I recommend it!!!

This game is more of a song pack for Guitar Hero II rather than a full-fledged sequel or spinoff, and I did fully understand this at the time. I remember renting this on GameFly, playing all the songs, and sending it back after I was done with it. I did eventually buy this when it went into the bargain bin. It has a great song selection; I especially love that they got a song by Limozeen, Homestar Runner's parody of 80's rock bands. I enjoyed it for what it was.

Pretty cool little expansion. It only released for PS2 but after the Xbox360 version was already out.. weird.

A worthwhile add-on to the PS2 guitar hero games. The songlist is smaller but I think that's due to the fact this is more of an expansion rather than a full-fledged new game. Game runs using the engine of Guitar Hero 2 so it plays the same as that game. Still has the cover music so if you aren't a fan of those then you still won't be, but I was perfectly fine with em by now. If you like 80s rock and have a PS2 with a guitar, no point in not giving this game a try, nawsay

It's GH2 with 80s skins and songs. That might be your jam if you appreciate that decade I guess lol

Decent song choices, informed my music tastes as a kid, and the first game I ever finished a song on expert

i ran so far awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

This game made my brain go fucking numb, i actively hated every song on here.

Harmonix's last hurrah and a really good note to go out on

Not the best song selection, but still enjoyable at times.

This game had 6 year-old me find out that Goofy Goober Rock was actually a parody song the whole time

Basically a chopped and screwed version of Guitar Hero II, not just a whole new track list, but new aesthetics and different costumes for about 60% of the last game's characters.

The thing is though, this game is better than Guitar Hero II, not only because of the superior music selection, but because of the improved balancing, and because it's significantly more fun to unlock songs.

I was pretty impressed by just how inspired this game's song selection was, you've got your "Holy Diver" and your "Ballroom Blitz", sure, but you've also got Limozeen and Oingo Boingo. The decision to go for "I Want to Rock" over "We're Not Gonna Take It" is one i found to be especially interesting. This was the first of the games i managed to complete the campaign in, because the music was consistently great from start to finish.

This is very much a stripped down version in every other manner, however, a smaller roster with no bonus songs, but i didn't play those in the first place so i didn't miss them too much.

Out of the first three games so far, i genuinely liked this one the best despite it's limited material. I am giving it a lower ranking just because it doesn't do enough to make it as impressive as the first two are, relative to when they were released.

Played this one just for the Homestar Runner song. Worth it.

The forgotten expansion to Guitar Hero 2. It's alright but the song list is comprised of B and C tier '80s song.

esse me traz nostalgia demais

I lent this out to someone and never got it back

It was fine, but kind of the beginning of the end
