Not as hard with savestates

the idea that anyone beat this game without save states is obscene. it's good fun until you get to the yellow devil; and then it just gets harder.

Fun, much like the other NES Mega Man titles, but not as much as those. This is mostly due to like, bullshit ass difficulty in some parts (Wily 1, Wily 4) and then just simply bad level design (see Elec Man)

It's janky, but the basic idea is there. Playing this straight into Mega Man 2 is a great lesson in the subtlety of game design; they were so close to getting it right, and the extra polish goes a long way in 2

very basic compared to later entries but still a lot of fun to play despite that

select button is a blessing

Good game I have no intention of finishing.

In his first adventure, Mega Man didn't know how to jump without 20 years of delay and then he left the powerup he needed to complete the game behind a wall.

So how big a crime is it to say that I actually like this one over most of the rest of the classic games.

Defiention of growing pains for a great franchise

the bad parts everyone talks about really are That Bad but the rest is solid

It's good. I like to jump and I like to shoot.

Starting point of the best NES series.

Challenging but rewarding. Credits sequence bumped this up half a star

Arcade-levels of difficulty were expected for this time period, so it makes sense. Still, what a rough game to overcome when you first experience the Yellow Devil, especially if you didn't know about pause buffering (and why would you back in the day?).

Habra envejecido mal pero aun asi se puede ver como una buena forma de iniciar una franquicia, la musica es de lo mejor

Very rough nowadays but I have the utmost respect for this game and the legacy it started.

its the first game in the series so give it some liberty

people talk about this game like its unplayable and that mega man 2 saved the series when its basically the same shit

I love mega man. Really just the gameplay is so fun to me. This is the first so it has growing pains but the core gameplay is so fun I don’t care

I love Mega Man but I really have issues with this one. The difficulty curve is absolutely bonkers if you don't select spam and the controls are a difficulty setting in themselves. I still love it for Yellow Devil and for being the trailblazer but later iterations are so, so much better. Legendary OST though.

a very clumsily designed game for sure, but there's a solid run-n-gun just begging to be let out behind all the poor choices in its level layouts

i fucking hate this what is wrong with me

here's the pc option

weird how this started a huge franchise.

this is probably the worst classic megaman but also i might rather play it over megaman 3 so i dunno

Alright, I'm beginning the Mega Man saga! First installment is alright, but nothing memorable. The colours are horrendously vivid and the music is irritating. Good platforming designs in some stages, but I wasn't a fan of Elec Man's stage; I kept falling down. Fighting Guts Man sucks. Also, did anyone actually care about the score counter? Let's see if Mega Man 2 is an improvement (and deserves the hype).

Best Parts:
• Magnet Beam to bypass spikes
• Cut Man stage
• Fire Man stage

Replay It? - No

This is an alright base, but we can still do better later on in the series

This game sucks lmao
'Muh NES hard' your mum made my dick NES hard when she sucked it I do not want to hear it.
