Giant invincible flying gorilla with a gun

I believe that I beat this game but I can not recall sadly. I know for a fact that I did not master it but I want to play it again and finally do.

The idea behind this game is interesting, but it's just kinda boring when actually put into practice.

It's an interesting and creative concept, but almost all action levels can be solved with ropes, wings and Cthullu. The control system is awful too.

The main mechanic of typing something and making it come into life was so much fun I spent more time spawning random stuff than completing story levels, though I feel this game was lacking in execution. Especially the controls.

i have very little memory of this game but i remember having fun like with most scribblenauts

A really cool game when it came out, but unfortunately its one of those games where the sequels do what it does but literally better in every way. No reason to play it now, but I have to give credit where its due.

One of the best games on the Nintendo DS.

Loved the format of this game a lot more than those of the other games in the series.

Scibblenauts is the only game that I have ever purchased and decided to actually return it to GameStop shortly after purchase. I really really wanted to like it, but it thoroughly disappointed me with very loose controls, and not very satisfying puzzle solving. Feels far more like a proof of concept than a finished game. Very hard to recommend.

RUBIUS FLASHBACKS!

Disfrute mucho este juego, super divertido

such a novel concept executed in a really fun way

this was very much a "just okay" game. the core concept is great, it's mostly the execution that flops for me. many of the puzzle stages feel very arbitrary either in the actual objective (which is often unnecessarily cryptic) or in the rules of the given stage (i.e. what you are allowed to kill, what is allowed to be destroyed, etc). i also felt that many of the more creative potential solutions to puzzles were either not rewarded at all or just completely didn't work when they reasonably should have. the action stages are differently flawed, in that many of them feel like repeats of the same thing, or are just big mazes, or are literally just puzzle stages with gates. some other minor issues as well: collision detection is fairly buggy, and a number of times i ended up stuck in walls or had unfair glitched deaths; also, for puzzle stages especially, it was annoying to not be able to see the hint (which often contains necessary information!) again without resetting the stage.
overall not a bad game, but has a ton of room for improvement, which i hope is more realized in the sequels. 5/10

classic ds game that not enough people have played

I think this game out of all the Scribblenauts games fits on mobile the most

the word of the day is "virgin"

I tried to get into this twice and didn't find it too fun, some of the levels are really hard already and I still have a ton left. Don't think I'm going to finish this one. Maybe the sequel is better?

Had fun spawning random shit but never really played the game beyond that

Pretty limited since it was the first game, but still very creative.

What a neat concept. I wish the rest of the series kept up with the "get the star out of here" puzzles.

The concept is way better than the execution. The movement is super finicky and janky. Also like, a significant portion of the puzzles I was able to skip because of a glitch with tethering stuff to doors. While that was enjoyable, it also defeated the purpose of the game. There are some fun puzzles in the game, but overall, it feels very unpolished. I also really dislike the music, though I guess it isn't bad. Just not my thing.

Concept so brillant but little limited compared to the sequel. Remember being so hype back then when the game got announced, so much freedom to solve puzzle, incredible

Such a great game but needed a little more oomph

A very unique game, and playing it as a child amazed me. The novelty wears off after a while, though, and its visually very strange.

Genius idea for a puzzle game; unfortunately, it rarely finds the sweetspot between too easy and too obtuse.

played it as a child. would rather play the second one, but definitely such a creative and cute idea for puzzle game
