a neat compilation given the era it released in but zelda 1 and 2 dont hold up and oot and majora both suffer from massive emulation issues. both have major input delay and framerate issues and majora just flat out crashes often. happened 3 times to me in the course of a single playthrough. not fun.

I really appreciated having a copy of OoT and MM that I could play on the Gamecube, those two games are very good to great. However, they were a bit rough technically speaking, and also the other two games in the collection honestly didn't do much for me, bounced off both of them pretty quick like. Overall, you'd be better off just playing the 3D games elsewhere.
I wanted this collection so bad when I was a young kid and I was absolutely over the moon when I finally got a copy. This was the collection that introduced me to my favorite game ever for the first time. I watched the retrospective mini movie over and over and over again because I was so enthralled with the series. I have heard complaints of the N64 games translating poorly onto this collection but I've played the originals and even going back to these I never found an issue with glitches or crashing or anything like that and on top of that I think the GameCube controller greatly enhances the gameplay of Ocarina and Majora. It was magical to have this growing up and this continues to be one of my most prized video games in my collection, let alone on the GameCube. Though, if I must take off my rose-tinted glasses I do have to admit that the original NES games have their worst versions on this platform. I love the GameCube controller but it absolutely does not work with these two games. Still, quite a bang for your buck since all of these games are starting to get expensive individually and come on they slap no matter what! (yes, even Zelda II that game is great y'all stop being mean and jumping on the bandwagon)
My rating is somewhat of an average on how I feel about each game in the collection, but this is also a buyer’s beware and a rating of how the collection is as a set of ports. This collection has heavy freezing issues with Majora’s Mask, and general framerate and emulation quality problems with Ocarina of Time. It’s not a good collection of ports nor is it even slightly the ideal way to play any of the games on the collection anymore. Best to skip!
*Please note this isnt a review of the games, its only looking at the ports from a technical perspective
This is a decent compilation, the games that are meant to output at 240p do, and since OOT and MM are now being rendered at 480p they can be output at 480i or 480p, so its looking good so far right, well for zelda one and two it is, but the n64 titles have bad framerate drops down into even the single digits, now this is still the best version of the original OOT and MM, but the frame rate inconsistency drags it down.

Such nostalgia for this collection! Even the 20-minute Wind Waker demo and retrospective videos.
I spent my childhood wandering around Clock Town and Kokiri Forest not really knowing what to do. When I finally discovered how to leave Kokiri Forest, my mind was blown. This was my introduction to video games.

Extremely solid collection for the time. The interface is sleek and Gamecube marketing-esque, with a nice remix of the series theme and artwork and a blurb to describe each game included. Emulation is good but not great, but N64 on Gamecube so shortly after those games were new is a sight to behold. Though it feels very strange to jump from Zelda II straight to Ocarina, as a kid I only later heard about aLttP (and I guess I didn't watch the series history video included on the disc)
All the cool kids with platinum DOL-001s grew up with this and spent an absurd amount of time in the Wind Waker timed demo. Shoutout to those who loaded the dungeon save and walked backwards to get 20 minutes of the Dragon Roost Island theme.
