I loved this as a kid, but just cannot get into it now. Unsure why.

Fantastic game. Starts a bit slow, and definitely feels like part of a larger "game" than the others do (the final case not being a real conclusion to anything, and feeling more like a midgame case from any other game), but that's not really a downside. Definitely looking forward to playing part two.

I can see what they were going for here, but the lack of depth/complexity in the mechanics are a real turn off.

Exists in the weird limbo of "I can tell this is well crafted, but it does absolutely nothing for me."

It's really amazing how great the Game Boy Mega Man games are, and then how bad the Xtreme games are. I'm not sure why, exactly, but Classic Mega Man maps much better to a handheld than X does.

No Return is a blast. I've thoroughly enjoyed it, and I haven't even scratched the surface of it yet. An absolutely fantastic addition to the game.

Not scoring this because I only played for about two hours, but given that Vengeance is coming out in a few months and I'll be picking that up over this, I'm not continuing. I enjoyed what I played, though, and I am looking forward to Vengeance and actually playing this for real.

This is somehow worse than the GB Mega Mans. MMX plays so much better than MM, and this game doesn't reflect that change.

Finished a second time (really I did like, six or so complete runs to get the rest of the achievements), and goddamn, this game is fantastic. Cannot wait for the Pristine Cut so that I can get even more of it.

On the one hand, this is a great and well designed Mega Man game. Arguably the best on the Game Boy (I'd say it's a toss up between this and IV). This is the first one that doesn't just feel like "Mega Man but small" and actually feels like it a Mega Man game that happens to be on Game Boy (if that makes sense).

On the other hand (possibly because I've marathoned the other GB Mega Man games while sick at home with COVID), this one just did not vibe with me at all. It's a great game, and I made it through all the bosses and to the final levels, but I just was not feeling it at any point.

Better than Mega Man III, but that's a low bar. So far, I'd say this is the best of the Game Boy Mega Mans. Again, though, they're really just "small" versions of the NES games, and I'm still unsure if that works in their favor or not.

Gotta say, this is the first time Mega Man But Small doesn't work for me. Unlike the previous two Game Boy games, this one just runs like crap. The slowdown on hit is absurd, and the levels are significantly worse designed.

Finished the DLC. Man, what a ride. Highly recommend.

I think I had more fun with this one than Dr. Wily's Revenge? Unsure. I'm also legitimately unsure how to really rate or review these. As said in the Dr. Wily's Revenge review, they're Mega Man But Smaller. Up to you if that's a good or bad thing, I guess.

Despite the frustrating early chapters, I think this is overall one of the better FEs. It's got some pretty major flaws (Roy promotes way too late, the gaiden chapters are mostly annoying and the fact that you need them all to get the true ending is deeply frustrating), but it's overall worth a play, and I hope Nintendo remakes this sooner rather than later.
