A fantastic expansion to the base game with new mechanics that flesh out the original experience. The new boss fights are great, didnt like the two new super bosses though, Fatalis and Alatreon felt a bit too unfair. Overall though I'm glad I played this.

A genuine masterpiece from start to end. The music, visuals and gameplay are near perfection. The individual stories while not ground-breaking make up for it by being distinct from each other based on the fact they're all widely different in themes and plot. However how they all tie together is fantastic. A top notch RPG from start to finish that has been solidified in my top 5 games ever. Dont bother playing the first game when this exists.

(Played with Dreamcast conversion mod)

Ngl the Sonic campaign is fantastic. And the other playable characters are fun too even if they dont feel very fleshed out and feel a bit too easy. People act like Big is the worst bit of this game but I can blitz through that in under 15 minutes. No the real problem is playing Sky Chase FOUR TIMES! Anyway this is a good transition into 3D.

I feel like the more I play this game the more I like it. I used to hate the mech and treasure hunting levels but I find them quite fun now. The speed stages are obviously the highlight though. Was a fun quick 3 hour stroll down memory lane.

I love the story and characters. The pacing and world building is near perfect. Voice delivery and timing can be off at times but overall the voice performances were charming and memorable. It's aged incredibly well. I was scared the gameplay was too basic at the beginning but it really opens up, the sphere upgrade system is genius. The end game encounters and bosses aggravated me a little but thanks to some cheesy tactics because of Rikku I got to the end with zero grinding required. The ending is something that will stick with me for a quite a while, it concluded beautifully. Recommended for any JRPG fan.

This is the current definitive version of Persona 3. While I think the super easy difficulty (on Merciless) was disappointing at times and I wished it was less faithful to the original game in certain ways (E.G fix the villains, overhaul Tartarus and improve the social links), ultimately this game was a blast to play and the fact they got this formula this right on their first try is an outstanding achievement.

It's not perfect, like for example the main 3 areas, Forest, Sand and Volcano are reused a lot. In general the game felt like it ran out of a steam after doing the Temple of Time dungeon. However, from a gameplay perspective things felt consistently great. The world design while super linear felt fun because it felt hand crafted and perfectly paced (most of the time). And the dungeons are genuinely excellent, I think the theming and the scope of the dungeons feels a little too plain most of the time but purely from a gameplay point of view they felt intuitive, the difficulty was just right. I just think the 3 main areas are reused too much from theming perspective, going to the forest for the third time for that stupid underwater mini game was just tiring.

Story wasn't amazing but it added cool lore and Groose is a chad. And while I didn't like the controls at first you do adjust to them in the end, they work perfectly fine on button controls. Worth a play if your a Zelda fan imho

I literally like everything about this game besides the actual gameplay itself. It feels super mindless and repetitive, the control scheme really let this game now. Story is good, not peak fiction but I enjoyed it. Music is genuinely top tier though. I will play Neo because I trust that game has better gameplay and I am interested in the sequel for it's story.

I honestly didn't expect much from this game, I've never touched Kirby before but this game surpassed my expectations in almost every way.

The levels were genuinely excellent. Great platforming and puzzle elements, and the copy ability adds a lot of variety. Level themes and environmental storytelling is top notch.

I think this game highlights a problem of Mario for me where levels don't feel like they are telling a story, instead feeling like you're going through a bunch of disconnected levels and worlds with no cohesion. With this game, it really felt like I was wondering through a unique world with it's own story to tell.

Speaking of the story. The lore was pretty cool, as I said I've never played a Kirby game before so I didn't expect anything like that. Boss fights were awesome too, it's too bad I learnt the dodge roll later into the game because after that it was so fun to abuse it. Felt like I was playing an easy version of a Souls game when fighting the bosses.

I never died once in this playthrough, I even did the post game but I didn't die once, but the challenge still felt perfectly fine to me, it even felt decently hard at times (in the post game).

Kirby and the Forgotten Land ended up being one of my favourite platformers to date, if Kirby had more 3D platformers like this it would easily elevate it to one of my favourite Nintendo franchises, possibly even beating out Mario. Hoping for a sequel to this game with this amount of quality and passion.

It is a perfectly serviceable JRPG with decent gameplay, but it's really nothing special. The characters are tropey and one note and the dialogue feels like it was written by Ai at times. Despite this I still enjoyed the characters and their interactions for what they were, the main plot could've been way better though. I mentioned the battle system being good but by the end it got repetitive and it ended on a very annoying final boss that felt mainly RNG dependent thanks to a move called "death rain" that can KO any party member regardless of their health. So that was annoying. My favourite thing about this game is definitely the art style, which I found quite charming. Thats why I picked this up really.

Like 4 and 5 the press turn system is excellent. While I dont think it's as strong as those two games due to the game being on the easier side (like I literally used auto battle most of the game), the boss fights were pretty fun and strategic. I never really did struggle, there was only one boss I'd consider to be hard, but as I said it was still engaging. Dungeon design is decent but it uses a lot of trial and error design I'm not a fan of and obviously random encounters can be annoying at times, but that was mitigated by the escape command working 90% of the time.

Music is fantastic and the vibes of this game are immaculate. The art style is amazing. Like 5 the story didnt do it for me too much but I think it was a bit better because the characters were more memorable. But the alignment locks genuinely ruined the ending for me, I got the worst ending by mistake because I picked wrong choices throughout my playthrough, I didnt care that I got the bad ending, my problem was that it doesn't even have a boss fight. Even if I got a bad ending I still think I "deserved" a good final fight to round it off. Was pretty disappointed when that happened, so when you play this game use a guide for all of the dialogue choices if you want an actually satisfying ending.

Pretty good game, and almost great. The tactical gameplay was fantastic. Learning to optimise the one more system and triangle attack mechanic felt super satisfying. But, the game was way to easy, I played on Hard Mode and it felt like a cakewalk. The only challenge I experienced was being optimal with my gameplay by clearing maps quicker and the side quests which were pretty hard at times. The main campaign is really easy because its basically impossible to die unless you make really really poor judgements. I will definitely play on Merciless next time and I'd recommend almost anyone do the same. Despite the difficulty I still found this game to be engaging.

Hot take, while I liked the OST, for a Persona game it felt weak. Not my favorite soundtrack but not bad by any means. Story was "good" however it suffered from being predictable if you've played the other Q games, Tactica basically feels like a sequel to those two games with similar circumstances and plot revelations just without the crossover stuff. But unlike Q the story didnt leave a lasting impression, partly because I dont like how they left one character alive. If they did leave them dead I think the story could've hit a lot harder, however it is going for a lighter tone so I understand why they didnt... As I said the story is good but I still prefer Persona Q's story or Persona 5 Strikers.

While I do not recommend this game at full price, if you play it on Gamepass like I did then it's definitely worth it if you're a Persona fan. I know a lot of people criticise spinoffs like this but to me it's more Persona content that does add new worthwhile stories and gameplay variety to the series.

Finally dusted off my Wii U to play this. Wanted to finish the last Xenoblade game I've yet to play. And overall, I had a pretty great time. It has its issues, the side quests are as bad as always with not much meaningful or interesting story content to be gleamed with annoying dialogue I always skip. And the game does a poor job encouraging trying other characters due to lack of XP share and small gains with class XP for your main character. But the base combat system is awesome, overdrive is amazing once you master it. Just play as Elma the entire game and you are in for a fun time. The open world is great, the probes encourage wide exploration and the 5 unique zones feel pretty dense and varied. Story was a tad forgettable but not bad, it had characters I liked like Elma and the ending was certainly intriguing. I hope it gets a followup and a rerelease on Switch.

I think it's pretty obvious the writers of this game were inspired by the Persona stories. And while I dont think it comes close to those... for what it is I did like the story and characters for the most part... There were characters I hated for most of the game like Asahi and Toki but then there were the best boys Gaston and Hallelujah. The character development could have used more screen time however they probably didnt want too many cutscenes as SMT tends to be more gameplay focused over Persona. Overall I liked the cast and how varied they were in their backgrounds and personalities but it could've been better. Hearing Asahi and Toki fight to simp over the main character was just so cringe, I dont really like how Toki went from a badass child assassin to... whatever she ended up becoming. I loved Dadga, he's really cool and I love the philosophy he holds in contrast with the "power of friendship" theme the group cast had. I also think all the background lore and how it's expanded from 4 is really sick even if I didnt understand all of it. The story was definitely mixed at times but it had enough stand out moments for me to consider it better than most game stories. And I really did love the ending, it felt satisfying after the climax of fighting Yhvh with Flynn and the original cast from SMT 4. It wrapped everything up perfectly and it was just so sweet seeing a happy ending. Gameplay was about as good as 4 it's just a bit easier, but smirking feels less random and the addition of proper partners that feels like a proper mechanic you have to account for and not just a random annoyance like in 4 certainly makes the battle system to me better. The only problem with the gameplay is the final 2 dungeons which drag on for way too long... other than that though it was great.
