Waw the multiplayer must really hurt in this game, because when I was playing the game I was pausing very often to make sure to never miss anything in the day :')

While I personnaly enjoyed the game (I was able to talk to NPC because I played alone lol), I completely get what you say about the game being about a peaceful return to what's important, but making the player feel the exact opposite way. But maybe this is something that is created by the players and not the game. I mean, you are not obligated to optimize your days, you are not even obligated to be profitable, because you don't have to pay your taxes in the game.
If you don't try to upgrade your farm as fast as possible, then the game becomes a lot less stressful. You can take your time to build relationships with the NPCs, plant trees not for the money you will get, but because you want to create a nice looking garden and take time to explore the map in search for secrets and quests. There's no real point, but it's fun, because it's creative to imagine, build and arrange your farm! Kinda like the fun you can have to create your town in Animal Crossing.

Well I don't know Soleil Studios works but this game definitely sounds interesting!
The way you talked about the bosses completely sounds like something out of a Metal Gear Solid game hahaha!

I don't know how bad the difficulty spikes are but I like Bayonetta x Gears of War gameplay mixed with MGS narration! Added to my ever growing list of games to check out one day lol.

@Tatassticot Well the game likes to build mystery, and for most of the playthrough you don't really know who is behind the threat and why. And while a lot of that is explained near the end of the game, there are a lot of things that were either not what I anticipated and didn't understood why it was that way, either very open to interpretation. So, I did understand all of what happened to the main characters, but I didn't really understand the plot that triggered this whole adventure. That's why it's not a big deal for me, as the adventure in itself was great!

About the combat, the game plays a lot like a top-down Zelda game. When controlling John, you can swing your pan repeatedly by mashing Y or charge your attack for better damage and knockback. You can also swap weapon instantly with the right joystick (4 weapons in the game, each mapped to a direction on the stick). Most of the guns are close range weapons, and bullets are shared between all of them. This means the ammo are pretty precious if you don't buy refill items, so you want to have multiple enemies in the same spot before shooting. And the last weapon you have as John are bombs. You have a limited quantity of them, and there are 4 types of bombs. All explode and do zone damage, but some are on a timer, other are activable, or have homing properties. But you really want to use the less bombs possible because even if they do big damages, they are very useful in exploration too!
You can also swap characters instantly and play Sam. The other character will not act, but will follow you and take damage if attacked. Sam can shoot mid-ranged bubbles that freezes enemies for a short amount of time, which is handy to help John kill them with the pan. You can also charge your bubbles to reach further enemies, but this is more usefull in puzzles. Sam also have a special move that builds up by killing enemies and destroying parts of the level, and allows her to stun every enemy on the screen for a longer time.
So it's very action based, but combat remain pretty simple in the execution. The game doesn't force you to use Sam, it's more like a nice help to save some bullets.
The only downside of this system is that sometimes it can be hard to evade attacks, as even if you move out of the way of the attack, there is your second character behind you that will follow the same path as you and can be damaged too. But once you get used too it, you get better at anticipating and it happens less frequently.

@Tatassticot Thanks for the very detailed reply!
I think you're right about the misconception people have with RTS, because the only things I know about them are from incomprehensible youtube videos where too much stuff happens all the time :')
I take your recommendations, I will definitely end up playing AoE3 at some point in my life, I just don't know when haha! Also, I am reassured to hear that these games have accessible campaigns, I don't know why but I always thought it was impossible to learn to play any RTS without spending hours loosing :') But this is something more true in 4Xs games if I believe what you said!
And about the DS game, I'm not sure of what it is, because I played a lot of demos on this console. And I currently can't check my game history because my 3DS is still broken at the moment (I have ordered a new speaker ribbon cable, this time it should be the right one). So I will try to remember, and I'll post an update if I find the name of the game :)
