I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this but it was alright while it lasted

I don’t understand Sephiroth and what his whole deal is or why I should care, but I had fun with this. It’s my first time finishing a Final Fantasy and I’m on board for the other two in this trilogy.

Just Yagami and the boys unraveling a huge conspiracy, doesn’t get better than this…

Really quite lovely. Makes what’s usually an after thought in other games, or at least just the means to get to the action, into its core mechanic. Climbing feels great and it’s gorgeous the whole way through. Will forever be glad about the influence Fumito Ueda and Team Ico’s games have continued to have.

I’m sure the meta contextual nature of this sequel will annoy some, but I can’t shake the feeling this was made specifically for me. Incredible presentation, consistently engaging, and my favourite thing Remedy has done. Delightfully weird, dark, and funny in equal measure. Game of the generation for me. I will write something longer about this when I’ve collected my thoughts more.

It’s time for Ada to be the lead of her own full game

Miraculously improves upon the original. Gorgeous and tightly crafted, couldn’t ask for much more in an update of a survival horror classic. The Ishimura is one of the best locations in gaming.

Runs a little long, mostly thanks to the distracting side content, but builds to a very satisfying conclusion.

I hated the endgame of this, but those first 50 hours in particular were magical.

Classic, haven’t played it yet

2022

This shit made my palms sweaty but it dominated my thoughts whenever I wasn't playing it. Talk about an uphill battle. I was instantly enamored with the game, BUT that difficulty spike as you get to the second level is so brutal that it almost put me off. Glad I persevered.
