took like 40 mins and cleaned up the last of the trophies to get the platinum. felt like a nice one to get.

a simple but effective star wars souls-like that takes elements from oh so many games to spit out a fun experience.

the story is alright with some neat set pieces, and combat stands out as being a fun use of lightsabers (even if non-human enemies are super frustrating).

this platinum was not that much fun. holy fuck respawn why isn't there a fast travel mechanic. i burned so much time just figuring out how to get to certain areas rather than actually enjoying the game.

the game itself is a really good time. i would not recommend the platinum tho.

it definitely had some really cool moments and locations, but the overall story was clearly lacking in comparison to the first game, which held it back a bit for me.

i think the novelty of MW1 for me also gave it an advantage. still, some really crazy spectacles and missions throughout.

8/10

first real souls game, and i really really enjoyed it. didn't always love the lack of checkpoints and grind to upgrade gear, but i think because i haven't experienced otherwise it made it a lot more bearable.

really beginner-unfriendly, a guide is pretty much required. but once you get the hang of things it becomes extremely addictive to try and make your way through each level. the bosses were never absurdly hard (other than the tower knight, my inexperience got me), especially after settling into my build. first-trying the final 3-4 bosses really was a nice power-trip, especially with the boss soul weapons i had.

really curious and excited to try more of these, and will definitely revisit this at some point to try a different build and round up the trophies.

pretty much the perfect puzzle game. the gimmick never gets old, and it's challenging and satisfying to complete without making me feel stupid.

just wish there was more which is a great problem to have.

9.5/10

man i was so fucking bored. like the story had some intrigue and the combat was kinda neat at first, but there's so much of it and just wandering around that i got so fucking bored.

looked up the rest of the story and im kinda happy i didn't waste more time on it.

3/10

i had an idea of the gimmick coming in, but man actually experiencing it was pretty damn cool.

i would genuinely recommend it to anybody. especially this version. i’ll remember it for a long time.

9.5/10

much more fun this time around. yea the game is janky, yea the dialogue and voice acting is kinda off, yea it looks kinda shitty.

but man is it fun. and man does that ending hit (even if slightly unfair oops).

7.5/10

as far as free DLC goes, i don't think it gets better than this. legit just made me love one of my favourite games even more.

perfect integration rogue-like system to have me engage more with a combat system i adore.

all story stuff, new and old, brought me oh so much joy.

9.5/10

pacing holds this back from being perfect. it's just too much of a slog for a solid chunk of the middle portion.

otherwise quite possibly a perfect game.

9.5/10

first time i’ve ever really played smth like this, and it was a good time. mechanics were fun, and the story had a simple and engaging premise.

it just went wayyyyy too long and concluded in a lacklustre way. most of my choices (from a story perspective) didn’t really matter, which was kinda a let down. cut it in like half, or by a third, and i would have enjoyed it much more.

still had a good time though.

7/10

some of the age shows a bit with every play through, but this still hits like a truck and is an achievement in storytelling in video games.

10/10

takes some getting into, but once you get good it is extremely satisfying. i kinda got lost in the lore and plot, but man the gameplay is fun.

bit of a disappointing ending, though it was a pretty fun platinum.

8.5/10

ok i get why this series is hyped the way it is. that shit is just cool. i know it's military propaganda but like, it was cool, i'm sorry.

i genuinely cared about my team, and there was some crazy ass moments throughout. some frustrations occur because of the age of the original game, but it's nothing crazy.

excited to see how it evolves.

8.5/10

liked this one slightly more than the first. i appreciated the tightness of the story and simple mission, especially after the first game. gameplay was a little more fun, and it was nice how the companions were more involved.

crazy ass ending got me debating going straight into the next game, but i think i need time between them.
