Almost everything is improved over the first one: graphics, sound, gameplay, etc. HOWEVER, the idea that you gotta run through everything each chapter multiple times is so tiresome that I did not play it again.
Maybe one day I'll get back to it and finish it 100% like I did with the first one.

So good. I know the limitations of the GBC can bother a lot while playing (only 2 items at the same time) but the game still shines through!
Classic 2D zelda movement, combat and everything else, which is one of my favorite types of games.
Each season brings changes to the map and how you play/address the environment, which is refreshing. It was a joy to see each map in different season.
I gotta confess that some bosses gave me trouble until I found out how to beat them, and other, even after know what to do had me struggling.
Really, really liked this. Not the best 2D zelda but I had a great time playing it!
Now gotta start Ages with the secret obtained after finishing this one.

Now I get why this is highly regarded.
Graphics are stunning, one of the best pixel art I've ever seen. Music is absolutely perfect, setting the mood correctly. Gameplay is really snappy and responsive with lots of options. Exploration is highly rewarding. Abilities are interesting.

Regarding difficulty: I felt that the game started hard and went to being really easy and then hitting a difficulty spike on the last boss. Nonetheless, superb game that justifies how highly regarded it is.

Simple yet great gameplay. Switching the "state" changes the stage/blocks which results in a satisfying loop. The stages are quite short but some are really tough to get on par.
Great little game.

Just like the first one, but with better graphics (more COLORS!).
The difficulty and the originality in this are way above the first one, but still really simple gameplay. Well worth playing it.

As charming as the first one but not as emotional. Gameplay stays the same but there are some innovations in this one such as the ultra jumps platforming sections as well as the sliding ones.
Gameplaywise I prefer this one over the first one but in general I'd say the first one is still my favorite.
DIAF tank stage!

Soooo charming, and the story gets kinda emotional while you are not expecting! I remember playing it on PS1 way back in the day but I had to play again now.

The gameplay is super simple (jump and wind bullet, and that's it!) but the stages are VERY well done. It's purely 2D but the way stages are constructed in a 3D world makes them stand out.
Enjoyed it a lot! (played the remake on steam)

Excellent game! A top-down action game that is challenging but fair.
Combat is quite simple but has a lot of options (after getting upgrades, that is).
Exploration is highly rewarding, with secrets and upgrades cleverly hidden at plain sight.
Graphics are not to my liking but they serve the game very well, to be honest.

An amazing game in almost every aspect.

GREAT castlevania, even if on the easy side.
The souls are interesting, the abilities are fun, the combat is responsive, the weapons are... I have no idea as I only used the axe the whole game.
Story is kinda cheesy but I liked it at the end of the day.
I'm not sure if this is better than Aria but nonetheless a great Castlevania!

Cool run'n'gun. Quite short (20 stages) and easy but really well made.
It's as simple as it can gets: you can jump, you can crouch and you can shoot (only forward).
Had a good time with it!

Really nice remake of Blaster Master!
The gameplay reminds me of a metroidvania with some top-down sections.

The movement is good with nice abilities but goddamn, the backtracking is not fun since there's no fast travel.

The game is very very easy but a blast to play, nonetheless.

I'm sure these series are not for me.
I still remember Azure Striker Gunvolt 1 being so much fun. But after playing ASG2 and this... I am now sure that I dislike this series.
The game is easy as a whole due to the challenge being getting high scores and kudos and everything, which is something I do not enjoy.
I know a lot of people do like tho.
The upgrades that you can buy are nice but you might as well just finish the game before getting the most important ones, as they are quite expensive and the game is really short.
Overrall, not for me.

Soulslike Metroidvania, with a creepy aspect and godlike combat! The game takes a while before getting interesting and unique (2nd or 3rd area) but when it does, it shines! The DLC totally put this game on another whole level by granting more fast travel, optional bosses, more equipment, platforming challenges, and so much more. I'll need to get back to it to finish 100% but so far, it was an incredible experience.
MAP: hate it. I absolutely hate this kind of "get to the bench to reveal the map". At least the fast travel is good. Also, totally non linear in some spots, as I finished the last boss before fighting every boss in the game, which is a plus.
COMBAT: Amazing. Parry is your friend here and while the normal enemies can be a tad frustrating considering how much damage they do, the boss fights are incredible. Some of the best in the genrce.
GRAPHICS: Creepy, disturbing and really well done.
LENGTH: I finished the main story around 10hrs but I still have a lot to do.

Such a simple and fun run'n'gun!
Can be quite tricky sometimes but it is very very enjoyable as an arcade game to come back to several times.

Really liked it for how simple and effective it is.

I don't know what happened between my first time playing ASG1 and this one. I felt it too easy, hated the kudos mechanic, loathed the farming for materials and did not have a good time playing it.
I remember fondly having enjoyed ASG1 and was hyped to play this now but it was not my jam.
Copen was ok.
