I have nothing but praise for the gameplay, art direction, and music, but GOD I just can't bring myself to care about the story here. It's constantly interrupting you for it's deep depressing plot which is about as complex as a swing set. You don't even have the option to just skip through the cutscenes as you can choose different dialogue. This might sound great as a way to keep the player interested until you realize that the basic events of the game play out the same no matter what you say. Player choice means basically nothing. The story isn't even bad on paper, it's just boring and plodding and doesn't really have much to say. Oh and the ending is just absolutely terrible, both from a story and gameplay perspective.
