This game is really good, especially for the price! I feel like there's two main ways it tends to get played, so I'd like to take a moment to detail both.

The first way, and the way I played when first introduced to the game, is when you take the game seriously. There's silly moments, sure, but everyone is focused on doing their task and meeting quota to the best of their ability. Not too many nonsense deaths, and conversation tends to pertain to the game itself rather than straying away from it.

The second way, a way i've gotten more familiar with as I've played with more people, would be when it's treated almost more like a chat room. People goof off, there's a lot of nonsense deaths, and conversation tends to pertain to other things rather than the game. You also tend to see this environment more commonly in modded lobbies, but not always.

And frankly, I enjoy both ways of enjoying the game quite a lot. I tend to prefer it when people take the game more seriously, but it can be quite a bit of fun when people are being silly too.

The game is still in it's very early stages, so it can't be judged too harshly, but I do think it could use a bit more fleshing out. Both in terms of generation, and in terms of monsters. But I imagine this will come in due time, and I very much look forward to seeing what will come in the future. For now it's a perfectly good game and I can recommend it in good faith. Great for game nights with friends!

This game is really great, I played it for the first time a few years back and I can confidently say it's still worth playing, even at present. [And you can get it translated for free, which is a plus.]

The game has a decent enough story, and the gameplay itself is very fun. The platforming almost feels a bit...floaty? But in a satisfying, unique way. I haven't really played any other games like it that control quite in the same way. Despite the perceived floatiness, it still feels very nice to control.

All of the weapons you can get throughout the game are pretty wonderful, and I like that some are locked behind certain conditions, meaning you won't experience them all in a single play through.

The level design is quite good overall, though I do think the back and forth in grasstown specifically is a bit obnoxious.

There's also plenty of very interesting bosses, that encourage you to figure out their weaknesses. Which I very much enjoy! They can be a bit hard, but the game rewards you for figuring out the proper way to approach them.

Additionally, the OST is incredible. I don't think there is a single song I dislike in the entirety of it. Each song is memorable, and fit thematically to where they play very well.

Great game, you should play it if you've the time

This game is really well made for what it is, and has a surprising amount of depth [and a pretty active competitive scene] if that's your sort of fancy.

I quite enjoy playing it with friends, and it's a very easy way to spend an afternoon. The storymode is a bit lacking, but I'm not really sure who'd buy a multiplayer kart racer for the story, anyway. [You do have to beat it to unlock all the characters, though.]

This game features a really fun mechanic where you pick two characters to play with different stats and abilities, and you can switch which character you're "driving" and which character you're "steering" with, so you can switch to what character better suits your needs at any given moment. [as you get the other character's stats when you swap] Additionally, you have the choice between both characters special abilities, which is fun!

I think my biggest wants from this game would be for them to add more maps, and maybe a few characters. At this time, it's unclear if the devs have completely stopped support on this game. But it seems likely.

Additionally, this game has a bit of a higher pricepoint for what it is, so I have to knock down a few points for that. It's good, but it can be hard to justify for those without a lot of money to spend.

All in all though, good game! If you're thinking of getting it for game night, I'd say go for it.

This game is kind of utter garbage. I do not have anything even remotely kind to say about it. I was able to play it when it first came out, and I just did not have an enjoyable experience. The main mechanics the entirety of the game hinges upon were half baked and felt incomplete. It was not enjoyable, the only emotions I felt the duration of playing it were boredom or frustration.

But on top of that, I have not been able to play online since. Online services literally have not been working for me or the people I try to play with.

Very shallow poorly made game that isn't worth your time or money basically 👍

This game is like, fine. I haven't played other games of the genre myself really, but I imagine it's nowhere near the best of it's kind. While it can be fun for a bit, it's very clear that this game relies on it's Minecraft branding to sell, rather than the actual gameplay itself.

I've heard there's an arcade game version of this, and to be honest I sort of feel that's what this game was meant for. A quick game or two to play with friends, rather than something you sit down and grind for a while.

The story is middling, the ost is extremely lackluster, and the gameplay is passible. Overall, I wouldn't really recommend playing it. But if you really like Minecraft, or have friends who already own it, it makes for a decent time.

Pretty much best enjoyed as a multiplayer experience, I wouldn't even bother if you intend to play it solo.

I have played this game on nearly every platform it's been available on, and have been playing it since it came out basically nonstop. I think the longest period of time I've ever not played Minecraft since it's release was about half a year.

This game is great, beyond great, even. I could write a novel on everything I like about it, what it's done for me, and how I think it's improved over the years. I don't think that's really necessary, though.

One of the best games of all time 👍

I am a huge fan of this game, actually. Which was a bit of a surprise considering I'm not the biggest fan of the other two split-screen style touhou games. Now that the initial excitement of a brand new Touhou game coming into existence has worn off, I can't say it's my favorite. But it's definitely up there!

I really enjoy how this game feels to play, and it has a very fun roster of characters. The dialogue is really good too, and the stories are very well connected by everyone's different perspectives on what's going on. Easily some of the best writing in a touhou game as a whole.

I will say, not all characters are created equal. Some story modes are much, much easier than others. Some are also much, much harder [Nazrin. I'm talking about Nazrin holy shit Nazrin's Yachie fight is actually inhumane.]

Playing with people is also very lovely, although if you're not playing in person I've personally been unable to actually get the game to be in a playable state with online matchmaking. Hopefully there'll be either a fanmade or official fix for this in the future, though. As there is for PoFV irrc.

Also it's good to keep in mind that there are. Some weird bugs in this game in particular. I've passingly heard about bugs in other touhou games but this is the only game where I've actually experienced any [or noted that I was experiencing them, at the very least.]

All-in-all, easily one of my favorite Touhou games. It's super fun, and if you're able to, a great way to spend some time with friends as well! There are a few downsides, but for the most part are easily overlooked.

This game is really good. I feel like it often gets overlooked simply by the merit of being new, which is rather unfortunate.

Though, I will say, I do not think this is a good game for beginners specifically. This game's gimmick is that you can get different cards that give you different abilities. While very fun, I think there's some that can become crutches for people learning, and make other games much, much more difficult because of this.

That aside, it's very fun. I adore the card system, and I feel like it adds a ton of replayability. Your cards can affect your playstyle a lot or a little, depending on what sort of built you have going on. I'd almost dare to compare it to a rougelike in that specific regard.

Presumably because of the cards, however, I do think this game is one of the harder entries in the series overall, so be aware of that! Definitely worth playing though.

To me, this game did what UFO couldn't. And that's make an alternative resource collection mechanic feel really good actually. While I cannot stand the UFO collection in well, UFO, I actually really enjoy collecting the beast spirits in this game. In part, it's because this game is a lot more forgiving. If you grab one of the wrong type, your little combo you're specifically going for isn't ruined.

Overall this game is quite good. The ost is easily in my top three, and the stage bosses are quite fun! There's a lot of neat spell cards here, and I'd probably say this is a bit harder than the average Touhou game when strictly talking about spell cards. However, this is balanced by the fact that you can get extra "bombs" by collecting otters specifically.

Overall very good game, I quite like it. Very fun experience and you can be a little wacky with it if you want.

This game isn't bad per say, but it has a few hang ups that prevent me from appreciating it to it's fullest.

My biggest hang up is visibility. Don't get me wrong, touhou isn't known for it's readability by any means but in this game it is BAD. I find it extremely difficult to tell what's going on at any given moment, with the combination of the stages and the extra particles given off by your season modifier. While some seasons make readability worse than others [cough cough spring] it doesn't change the fact that it makes the game feel much more unfair in a way that's out of your hands.

That aside, I also don't really find the characters in this one memorable save for like, Okina. And Aunn a little bit. The music is very, very good though!

The game itself isn't too bad, either. There's a few spell cards that are especially sinister, but overall I'd consider the game fair! Fun if you can get past the visibility issue.

This ended up being the first Touhou game I ever actually cleared. While this game is extraordinarily difficult, it also had point device mode. Does this make the gameplay itself easier? No. But it does give you the ability to try over and over again, so you can still beat it with enough time and determination.

While at times it can feel a bit like banging your head into a wall, I found this game to be an extremely valuable resource as a beginner. The ability to focus on one spellcard until you do it right helps you learn in a much less roundabout way than having to restart the whole game to get back to the card that killed you [unless you use practice mode, of course!]

I haven't tried legacy mode, so I can't comment on that, but despite the difficulty this game is easy to recommend. I would never do so as a first game, but I did find it helped me improve drastically when I was stuck in the very starting stages of learning how to play touhou. After beating this game, other games suddenly felt much, much more doable!

This game as a whole is very solid, but not the most memorable to me. The ost has a few songs that are a bit lacking, but unlike some people I have seen, I would not call it entirely bad. There's some great songs in there, and overall the score is perfectly fine.

The game itself is fair, not particularly difficult nor particularly easy. There's some really fun gimmicks in this game that stood out to me, with a lot more memorable spellcards than the average touhou game. [Seija in particular is very fun, but the lowest hanging fruit to mention]

Resources are also good. You're encouraged to time your resource collection well, as it rewards you with extra life and spell card pieces. While I personally prefer older games bombing/life systems [it being point based+midbosses giving you extra lives/bombs] I don't mind this one at all.

This game is like, fine, but I just didn't really like it.

Did not help that after about an hour of troubleshooting to play with friends it ran at a crisp 1 frame per minute at best. I'm sure it's good fun if you have people to do couch co-op with, but otherwise I don't really see a reason to play it when Soku is right there.
[Also I personally prefer how Soku plays to begin with]

The story is cool though. Worth reading!

Why does this website have two entries for Ten Desires?
Anyway,

I quite like this game actually. I know some people are not a fan, and I can completely understand where they're coming from. But I adore the trance mechanic and just the overall pacing/feeling of the game. Frankly if given the choice I'd take the trance mechanic over the UFO mechanic every single time it's not even close.

The shot types are fun, and music is good, and the spell cards are neat. In particular, Seigas little gimmick with Yoshika stands out to me. But I also quite like Kyouko's bullet gimmick as well.

This game is very tight with resources though, and many find it unforgiving. You're just not really allowed any unneeded deaths like you are in other games. Though, you can still manage with one or two, just don't be reckless.

Overall, I consider it a good experience. Not worth skipping, but not a game I'd specifically recommend either.
