The gameplay of far cry 3 but with slight improvements. But the story lacks any interesting characters and has a shallow and weak protagonist. Personally, I don't understand the need for every character to turn evil at the end, and it just nullifies any development they had or my own investment in them. Also the radio host is so annoying I don't know how they can write a person to be this annoying when you don't even see them once.
One of the best games of all time, with an amazing narrative, gameplay of Ezio at his peak, and the best side content in the entire franchise. The traversal is more fun, the brotherhood system is really enjoyable and rewarding, Rome as a city is really well designed for parkour and the soundtrack is a masterpiece. This game just took the basis of AC2 and improved upon it in every way possible.
The best Assassins Creed storytelling yet. How this connected the previous 3 games before it so well is still astounding. Gorgeous open world and beautiful soundtrack, and the best brotherhood system yet. The tomb missions are better than previous installments. Addition of the hookblade tool makes the traversal satisfying and fresh, especially with the world built around it (cough cough unlike syndicate)
But this game does lack the variety of side content found before, but I won't hold it against itself as I am aware of the small development window. I understand why they changed Altair's VA, but I prefer the previous one.
The ending of this game and embers will always hold a special place in my heart and that's all the reason I need to give this game 5 stars.

So close to being the best Far cry, the gameplay is really fun like the games before it and the melee system is a welcome addition. The base plot itself is perfect for a far cry game but it falls short because of the main character, or the lack thereof. I can see how this game became the best selling ubisoft game, but the exclusion of a main character takes players out of the immersion, as in cutscenes the protagonist can be just standing there while side characters are moving the plot forward. Overall really fun, good sidequests and detailed open world.

Worse than I remember. The modern-day story and the haytham sections carry this game. Then there's the majority of the game as ratonhnhaké:ton, which is so mind numbingly boring. Of course, some missions are good. But for every good mission in a sequence there's 5 horrendous war sections or doing a task for a random general. The side content and homestead missions are boring and bloated. The only fun missions are the peg leg missions which are first locked by mindless collectibles. The open world is easily the worst part of the game being so bland and boring theres no fun to explore or parkour. There are some actual gems in the game, but they're covered with so much dirt that it harms the experience.
On another note, and this doesn't effect my rating, Ubisoft really doesn't know how to remaster their games well without adding a lot of downgrades. The game at points looks visually better but the cutscenes are worse, I got more glitches and bugs than I got in the original version. Its just not worth it at that point.
