It’s always irritating seeing Among Us being put up as an example, being a natural launch following the team’s Henry Stickman adventures that only got hit by the cultural zeitgeist two years after its release. It was neither trend driven nor was it ever expecting to be higher than its small target userbase that radiated late Newgrounds energy :/

Among Us, along with others on this list, definetly comes more under the "viral" side of the paradigm, but is is most certaintly one of those twitch games. I think it's also fair to say despite it's humble origins and from what I hear, legitimately lovely dev team, its definetly taken up a life of it's own.

Hmmmm...I would argue that a lot of these don't deserve to be on a list like this as much as something like say, I Am Bread, or any of the "simulator" games. Like, yeah Apex is a very popular Twitch game but a lot of that is due to it just being a well made game (so I've been told) and not because it was designed in a viral meme lab to get internet personalities to react to it.
