I became intimately familiar with the incredibly fun movement system when I got the major key in the throne room before unlocking the wall run.
one of my favourite things about metroidvanias is when you can use the tools and systems provided to find routes/sequence breaks which are clearly not intended, yet the game doesn't stop you from taking them....

It's everything I want from a computer screen. A surreal feverdream, dripping with style and unnecessary amounts of blood. It difficult enough to keep you engaged, and fun enough to keep you from being enraged. I want to melt into the warmth of the vapourwave sunset, comforted by heart-pumping, M.O.O.N-scored senseless hyperviolence.

Another Arkane imsim, so naturally it was made for me, but it's missing something..
There are lots of Innovative gameplay elements and I just love the idea of piecing together the perfect run to take down all the targets.
In the end, I am surprised by how memorable the game is, and when I think of it, I think of it fondly. In my opinion that is what matters most, so I just can't bring myself to give it less than 4 stars, even if it deserves less...
