Kind of crummy ports (although that might be the fault of PAL region bullshit), but as a legacy collection; near perfection.

Add Sonic Schoolhouse and this would be an easy 11/10.

Ah yes, the most iconic trilogy...
Sonic CD, Sonic The Fighters, and Sonic R...

Got the job done pre Nintendo Switch, but the DS was definitely capable of providing more polished versions of these games.

A quintessential example of the dreaded "First Game Syndrome".

A quintessential example of taking what worked about the original, refining it and trimming the fat.

A mixture of "If it ain't broke don't fix it", and "It needs more stuff! To exceed the original it must be jammed with more stuff!"

Travellers Tales Developer 1: "Just do more of what Crash 3 did."
Travellers Tales Developer 2: "So cram more useless shit in it?"
Travellers Tales Developer 1: "... Yeah sure."

The first game is a huge improvement, and 2 and 3 are about on par with the originals. Combined together and made more accessible on multiple platforms makes it the best collection of classic games (regardless of being remakes).

Crash Team Racing on Steroids.

Y'all bitching about how hard it is to 100% this game. It's difficult, but it's not that bad.

...

106% though...

Probably a controversial take, but this is my favourite of the trilogy.

The backtracking is the only thing keeping this behind the first game for me.
