Crash1x
First of all - it took me soooooooo long to finish it because of my real life struggles so even though my overall experience was definitely ruined, this chapter still managed to be brilliant, and I think that this is the best example of using the emotional attachment to the characters that the reader grew until this point, and making it work so damn good even when all the mystery is already kinda fading away and it feels like the entertainment level will eventually fall, but surprisingly, the emotional attachment to the characters just carries every single thing in this chapter, it's one of those stories where that silly "power of friendship" just works.
It's one of those types of stories where your emotions are mixed but in a good way, the whole chapter was such a rollercoaster of insanity and after everything that Shion went through - that ending scene was one of the most melancholic experiences I have ever had and I could not help but get some really bittersweet emotions, it's also wonderful how the whole chapter has a lot of BGMs with that "You" keynote, and at the very end you just listen to that vocal version of "You" with your wet eyes...
Even considering it's shortness compared to the other previous chapters, this one actually had it's entertaining stuff, I also liked how different Himatsubushi feels compared to the rest, so it always felt for me like a rest between the question arcs and the answer arcs, and it manages to be really nice even without most of the "main" characters.
I think that from now on - I will share my thoughts experiencing this thing as someone who already watched that deen anime 2 years ago just because I didn't have the endurance for the VN back then and all I wanted is to get into Umineko asap...
The first hours gave me such a sweet nostalgic feeling of reading some long ass exposition, so I definitely felt that it was Ryukishi's "handwrite", but along with that it was super obvious that the chapter will become really entertaining even for someone who still remembers the highlights from the anime, and that alone convinced me that I won't regret anything for starting the VN, and let's be honest - if the story remains hella interesting eeeven if you have been spoiled on everything, it's a bold sign that you are reading a good thing.
