Didn’t expect it to be on here but it’s a childhood classic sooooo

I haven’t played it for obvious reasons but I’m simultaneously really glad we’re entering a sort of new age of shovelware, depressed that said shovelware is now really really expensive to buy, and angry that this apparently took priority to Namco over the Klonoa remakes

Glad it exists, no rating because I haven’t played it, cannot wait for the inevitable Derry Girls video game

Is quoting the Lazytown song in a jovial manner in such a way that would suggest you should pirate/emulate the game a bannable offence on here

The first game I ever got on steam so I’m a little biased

Granted it’s not that good, only being able to save at night is a bit of a pain, the load feature kind of voids the threat of solitary and escape methods get a little bit more restrictive as the game progresses with stuff like the barrier in jungle compound but I appreciate them trying to add variety to the gameplay and I still enjoyed it.

Really good conceptually

Also I have the steam port so if anyone wants to buy my steam account for 2 billion pounds, well

Too bad

I think I’m more consistently drawn to 2d sonic games because they consistently manage to not look and play like ass

I genuinely do like this and oldschool but I guarantee if the storyline was told through any other medium I would not be as financially shackled to this dogass web browser as I am currently

How fucked up is it that I know about Spyro and Crash Bandicoot through this franchise and not because I had those games themselves? Society has fallen, billions must 100% crash 4

Games still Ight though, I actually didn’t grow up with this one I had Giants and everything after, but it’s still decent
Definitely don’t think it would’ve been as popular (or profitable) without the toys to life aspect and the Spyro branding though

Growing up and maturing is realising I’m not burnt out of undertale, I’m just sick of people circlejerking the same 5-6 characters and their billions of alternate versions, and writing the same arc for them over and over and over again ad nauseum

Idk man, I get these games are just GBA spinoffs so they probably weren’t priority in the story department but… man, it’s really disappointing how these spinoff games just stopped focusing on having a deep plot after the second game considering that’s part of what made them so memorable. Combine that with the removal of the 2.5d aspects of the level design and you’re left with a game that’s… serviceable, I guess? But still not one I really see myself revisiting over the first two.

Also this game bringing back The Wretched Orb and not addressing his actions at all is the starting point of this series becoming a mess timeline wise and I don’t think I can forgive that

It takes a bit longer for this one to become peak but when it comes together it really comes together. I just wish certain side characters were given a little more depth, and I feel klonoa’s redesign here has a little less charm, but by all means this is still brilliant.

Went really hard when I was a kid with no developed media taste, probably would’ve gone harder if it was finished though ngl

Might actually be one of my favorite games ever made. Not even joking.

Probably controversial but it might be the weakest one to me? Like, not bad of course, But I’m not itching to replay some of these levels as much as I am with 1 or 3, they feel a bit too open for my liking and targets are often really disconnected from each other, meaning you have to go back and forth often - also one of the 6 levels is essentially a glorified tutorial in a game that already has one so that’s not good
I will say though - I like the story developments in this one, the actual mission briefings were better even if the cutscenes in between missions themselves were worse, but IOI was bordering on bankruptcy so I’ll let it slide - plus there’s some very memorable kills in this one and there’s also a higher ratio of good targets
So overall, it might be my least favorite but it’s still a good one, and considering IOI nearly went bankrupt making it, it’s a miracle we got this and 3 at all, so I’ll give credit where due.
