Also can be described as "Pokémon with chinese warlords", since you can capture warlords in random battles to join your party (though that mechanic didn't feel very useful aside from the very early game, since non-protagonists have fixed stats and can't level up).

Either way, it's a very solid game, just like DQ it's pretty polished all around. Late game felt a bit unfair since enemies are very strong and I feel a lot of fights had a bit of a luck factor to them, plus the encounter rate was insanely high sometimes, but other than that, it was a enjoyable experience.
