My personal favourite Tomb Raider game, this one. It has taken its predecessor and corrected most of its more glaring mistakes, even if not always in the most perfect way. The story is a little less rememberable, but the gameplay feels much more connected.

The second time the series got rebooted, and this time it wasn't quite as liked by fans, perhaps because it got rebooted after Underworld, which was better than Angel of Darkness, but this time they're taking a completely different approach with Lara's character and the gameplay itself, focussing more on survival and character development than the old-established exploration of older games.

It's not for everyone, but the ones who like this new formula will like this new trilogy.

The game is pretty good I will admit, but I just could never vibe with it. It lacked certain things that other games had.

A near-perfect translation of the 1996 classic onto Crystal Dynamics's engine.

The reboot the series needed after Angel of Darkness, and it was a good one. Lara finally found to her old strength with this game.

While I personally don't think it's quite as horrendous as others may say it is, I do agree that it is the weakest entry into the franchise. It had a lot of potential, but it felt like it was held back by desperate attempts to cling onto certain formulas that just did not age well, and some of the mechanics just didn't translate well to the newer engine this game uses compared to the five games before it.

This game starts out okay, but the further you get, the more unfinished it appears, and it becomes apparent that the devs had no interest in even making this game. Beware a gamebreaking bug in the final level of the game. I suggest leaving a safety save at the start of the level.

This game was just too long for me, and at times it got significantly more confusing. This game introduces branching levels to the series, and while it generally works, sometimes that really doesn't work in its favor by making things seem more daunting then they needed to be.

It's not the black sheep of the series that many think it is, but it doesn't quite hold up to the other two for me. But hey, at least I can do cornerbugs in this game.

Weaker than the first in some ways, but stronger in others. I think all in all this game is slightly stronger, but they're really equal.

It's a classic and the starter of a great series for a reason, honestly.
