Tedious sandbagger action game with a 2008 animated Canadian TV artstyle that overstays its welcome.
On first viewing i almost mistaked it for DmC footage so that never was a good sign to begin with the bar has been lowered.

Not great. Really wished they just kept updating the original warzone

It's not an exaggeration to say this game is as difficult as beating down a brick wall. But when you get glimpses of the brilliance that sits on the other side of that wall, it makes you want to keep chipping away no matter how impossible it seems. When the wall finally crumbles and you come out the other side, I genuinely think it's one of the most rewarding and satisfying experiences I've ever had.

I mean yeah it's quite literally just re4 but VR.

Very well adapted game with many comfort options, all the puzzles and vehicle sections were turned into actual interactive mini games which is quite great. Manual reloading and dual wielding are a lot of fun and so is absolutely breaking the game with first person strafing movement.

Sadly the qtes are super obnoxious with waggling motion controls now, they made an option to skip these but only on certain cutscenes. Also you're limited to one short weapon and one long weapon, which pretty much makes you have to constantly visit the inventory menu everytime you want to change into a third gun, which is less than the original game but still could have been implemented differently.

The cutscenes are in the wrong aspect ratio somehow (??) and there's heavy censorship on the script, I wouldn't recommend anyone play this as their first version but rather as a way to rediscover a classic. Assignment ada and separate ways are also missing.

Aside from this it's a pretty great experience, the game looks and runs great for a mobile device and it's probably the best full, traditional game Quest 2 has to offer.

Good but it's over and it's too simple and it's not nioh and it's over

makes half-life even less impressive in hindsight. 5-D maze deathmatch. all hail (pre-destiny) bungie. see you starside vidbois

It's...alright. I didn't love the original Dead Space; it has no subtlety and its story is weak, and too many of its objectives are boring "go to A and do B"-style affairs. Still, the atmosphere is solid, the combat is fun, and there's fun to be had if you want schlocky B-movie horror.

This remake is alright, but I don't think it adds anything that's particularly essential. You won't be missing out if you just play the 2008 original instead. Sure, the visuals are nicer, but it's probably not good only to care about stuff like that.

Your reward for playing the first game is a solid sequel that enhances everything about the original while also giving so much more. You still have your standard Gunvolt gameplay but the introduction of Copen as a secondary protagonist with a whole different playstyle adds a lot. Also the story in general is just a lot better, especially on Copen's side, and in general I prefer Lola's vocal synth for music more than Lumen's. The semifinal boss has a really cool gimmick for GV and the final boss is best comparable to something like Suzaku vs LeLouch. Indigo Destiny has not left my music playlist since I first heard it.

The content in this game is so lacking i feel like I play the same 3 maps over and over and over again. It is straight up not fun half of the time. But when it IS fun it is a LOT of fun, mainly when you're playing with friends.

The most boring of the Souls trilogy, but still a pretty good game. It's just less interesting, with mediocre level design (though not as rush and busted as DS2) and a heavy focus on "do you remember that? You remember that from Dark Souls 1?"

Just like DS2, some of the bosses were more annoying then they were challenging, or they boiled down to easy gimmick fights. DS1 and Sekiro give you a real sense of satisfaction once you finally conquer an opponent, an adrenaline high. Didn't really happen for me with this game.

You also have less tools and strategies at your disposal then DS1. Poise has been replaced by hyper-armor for certain attacks while still requiring heavy armor to gain that hyper-armor. This sucks. You are going to roll through this game and you are going to like it.

Hopefully FromSoft learns from Sekiro for Elden Ring and offers the players a multitude of counters for both enemies and bosses. Rolling through attacks and then getting a few R1's in is just boring. It's not very satisfying. Deflecting an attack, side-stepping through the next, and then specifically countering the final strike to get in some serious damage - that feels great.

It was probably bad for me to play Sekiro and Nioh 2 before playing this game.

elevator pitch: the sopranos meets lovecraft

you'd think a video game with this concept would be some off-the-wall wacky shit that'd be impossible to take seriously, but it's a genuinely grounded and subtle mobster narrative front to back. almost nobody ever even mentions the darkness besides jackie, mike patton, and anyone about to have their hearts torn out by it

murder feels good. all the guns have a pretty nice oomph to them, and the combat-driven darkness powers are lots of fun, but what really stands out here is the world itself - it's remarkably detailed and freely explorable without feeling like every other shoehorned open world the AAA industry is so littered with. npcs frequently converse, tvs actually work and show things ranging from music videos to entire (hilariously badly compressed) public domain films. everything just feels totally authentic. really helps that jackie monologues and tells stories whenever you load into a new area. keeps things fresh, alive, and personal

game's short (1-2 sittings) but it's all killer and no filler. rpcs3 can handle it now too. so if you've got either a decent pc, a 360, or a ps3 then there's no excuse to pass this up

The SBMM is too aggressive. Can only have fun when my face is pressed onto my monitor waiting for the slightest pixel change
