I dropped this as soon as I finished World of Light, and the more time which has passed since then, the more I hate the game.
I could go on a huge tandem about it, but let's just say that it's a textbook example of why "quantity over quality" is a shitty mentality to have.

As much as I would like to call Ultimate the worst installment in the series, I have to acknowledge that this also exists. Just an empty husk of a Smash game, I have very little to say about it.

The last good Smash game. Everyone rightfully sings their praises for Smash Run, but I also think that the game has the best implementation of Classic Mode, as well as a better stage lineup than Wii U.
Seriously, why the fuck did Ultimate bring back Pac-Land instead of Pac-Maze?

This would be the best game in the series by an enormous landslide, if only the gameplay wasn't inexcusably terrible.

Adventure Mode is overrated as hell, becoming more of a fixed Classic Mode after the Planet Zebes stage.
But it's fucking Melee, still standing as the peak of the series.

Best presentation in the series by far, but the content leaves a lot to be desired. When ranking the Smash games, I would rather just ignore this one because it doesn't compare to later installments but also isn't necessarily bad.

Fucking embarrassing compared to Star Fox 64. It's no wonder that this game still hasn't been ported to the Switch, let alone that the Star Fox series as a whole became dormant since its release.

I kind of felt like bringing down the score because I don't particularly enjoy the all-range mode, but considering everything else this game has to offer and how many times I've replayed it... fuck it, 5 stars.

The second stupidest title for a game I have ever seen, behind Mortal Kombat 1. And yet, it's a surprisingly competent fangame with some of the most enjoyable boss fights I've experienced in a 2D Sonic game.

I absolutely adored this game when it came out, spending hundreds of hours on it, but it hasn't been aging well. The base gameplay is kind of boring and the vanilla maps are mostly terrible compared to the custom maps, but the only active servers now are M.U.G.E.N.-tier clusterfucks.
I am well beyond ready to have a clean slate with Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers, which I hope will be worthy of 5 stars.

Almost everything I could ever ask for out of a hypothetical 3D Sonic game from the Sega Saturn... "almost" because maybe the physics are too floaty.

It's quite remarkable how making some tweaks to the gameplay and technical aspects, with little-to-no changes in the level design, turn this from one of the worst Sonic games to one of the best Sonic games.

Somehow the presentation of this and Mega Collection just fucking hit the spot, with Origins paling in comparison to them.
However, I must remove half a star for Sonic CD being region-locked. I didn't get to hear that glorious Japanese soundtrack until the game's re-release in 2011.

This is one of only a few games where I will usually idle to let the opening play out. The music, and the presentation of this collection in general, is just that good.
But featuring the standalone versions of Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, with the combined game being an unlockable, was an idiotic move in hindsight.

Kind of cool, but too bad that puzzle games aren't my cup of tea. My attempted playthroughs on Sonic Mega Collection were enough for me.
