The platformer that defined the 16-bit era. There's not a whole lot to say.

A fun game to compliment the first Super Mario World. Some of the tightest platforming I've ever experienced. The graphics are great and the soundtrack is a provides an excellent atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

In my personal opinion, Pokemon Emerald is the premier Pokemon experience. if I wanted to get someone into Pokemon, I wouldn't show them the brokenness that is Gen 1 or 2, I'd go straight to 3. Some of the coolest lore in Pokemon comes from this game. Catching them all is more challenging than ever with some of the most cryptic ways to catch some of the legendary Pokemon.

I was 5 years old when Red Version & Blue Version came out in the States. I thought we were in the future when I picked up Gold Version (colors on a Game Boy was exciting). Then when Ruby & Sapphire came out, I was over the moon. Emerald is literally the best of both worlds. Why play Ruby or Sapphire when Emerald exists?

My favorite video game of all time. This game IS the argument for video games being art. MGS provides tight stealth gameplay, interesting boss battles, and one of the wackiest stories in all of video games. This is one game that I say you can't go wrong with playing.

While not nearly as hard as DKC 2, Donkey Kong Country 3 is still a mild challenge that has some graphical improvements as well. I got through it in two days.

A 2D platformer that doesn't pretend it's not on the Game Boy. It fully embraces the fact that there are limitations on what they could do on the Game Boy and gives you a fun experience, albeit a little too easy.

DKC 2 is easily one of the hardest games I've ever played. It's also one of the best 2D platformers I've ever played. Sometimes it dips it's toes into "unfair" territory, although I found that a majority of the deaths I experienced were completely my fault.

I would recommend this game to anyone who loves 2D platformers and people who like a challenge. Its definitely not for newcomers. I wouldn't recommend this to a novice, that's for sure.
