GOTY | 2020

Fuck everything, but I did play some good games I guess.

Games I enjoyed in 2020. Mildly ordered.

Very dense game, gorgeous too. A neat combination of a 4x with a run based game.
One of the most interesting takes on the soulslike. Especially when it comes to how these mechanics work in different level designs.
Tough, but unfair. Still a powerful experience. Fuck spikes.
Brings a lot of happiness to my friends and generally silly fun. Didn't engage with fandom or anything, but a good fantasy sports simulator.
I am a trash king, but turns out that just makes Crusader Kings more fun.
Perfectly fun, perfectly fine. Don't expect too much, but if you ever thought "I want mirror's edge, but more instant restarts" this is for you! Pretty too.
Love the game, though I've slowed down on it a bit. I have some issues with the ending and the games accessibility. But learning how to speedrun the game continues to be a treat.
Good tower defense game with deckbuilding as its medium. Ignore all first impressions the aesthetic gives off in trailers, in game it's fine, fun even!
Be the coolest Witch, cast the coolest spells, find the coolest secrets.
Melts my brain to play more than a few encounters at a time in this game, but holy shit, it's so crunchy and fun to puzzle out.
Been playing through the DLC with friends, it's still a treat!
What if city builder, but with like, a story? It works!
As I continue to reflect on it, it continues to rise its way up in the pantheon of games Glorgu really likes. Play it, and feel free to ask me questions about it because the systems are honestly not explained well enough.
Game succeeds at being both an incredibly satisfying solo roguel*e in addition to a fun multiplayer game that can be played at various levels of intensity.
Started playing it when Magic standard was trash. It satisfies a lot of the same things I like about Magic, but I don't feel like shit when I lose. Fuck yeah!
I was very high on this game until recently. I realized by making area 1 more difficult, while it made initial sessions more interesting, it made for a worse time once you were looking to find secrets beyond.
Do you like farming? How about crying?
Do you like systems? You'll probably like this! Writing stinks though.
Being a vampire is kinda cool, go figure!
