Pretty disturbing Fire Emblem.
It's kind of the opposite of Three Houses.
The gameplay and level design is far better. The gameplay is one if not the funniest of the serie.
The level design is in the top too, but I do prefer some other FE like Radiant Dawn or Thracia. Maybe because there is more context and the characters involved are more interesting.

On the other hand everything writing-related is bad.
The scenario is a big cringy joke. Probably the worst with Fates, even Awakening is probably better on this aspect.
The characters are mostly bad in the story.
If you like a character it's probably more because of this gameplay or his support.
Support are really short and underwhelming. I prefer them other Awakening's and Fates monolithics supports but that's all. They really are average, it's kind of sad after Three Houses.
I don't like the ambiance, chara-design aesthetic is not Fire Emblem-compatible too and the world building is average.

The hub is less tiring and boring than Three Houses hub, it's an improvement but I want to say why ?
The game could have been played without a tedious hub. It can be almost never use but still.

At the end it's a game you play for gameplay, not for the story.
I think it's the most important thing in an FE game (gameplay&level design) but it still by far better to make stories and characters interesting to be invested in maps the overall game.
But I'm not THAT disappointed because I was pretty sure that this game would be the worse ever (except Awakening) in the franchise and it's not.
The gameplay is really strong, engage give a lot of possibilites that we've never seen in the franchise and it's really a strong advantage.

If you play FE games just for the story do not buy this one.
I want to say, don't play Fire Emblem at all, but this one really is cringe and you better be used to animes and that sort of things.

If you like fire emblem because of the maps and overall structure, this game is more like an FE GBA with emblems.
Not in the atmosphere, just be sure that the vibe here is what the trailers show, but if you can't put that aside it will be a great amusement for you.. I hope.
