One of the best games I have played in quite some time. From the flight controls to the sense of wonder I felt from exploration I felt this game really lives up to the hype well.

As someone who started to grow tired of deck building games this one really got me in ways I didn't think it would. What I thought was going to be spooky Slay the Spire turned out to be an exciting ride that was really unexpected in many ways.

DDLC is a game that I somehow avoided spoiling for myself after all this time. I'm glad I did as this game really surprised me in a good way. While it can be hard to recommend this game to some due to it's nature I'd say this is a story worth experiencing. I haven't played many visual novels but this makes me want to explore more.

While not as charming as the first title I loved the dialogue of the party and the locations looked great. I felt the difficulty was fair and the battle system was slightly improved as well.

This game captures the innocence of adventure that I find not often portrayed as well as it does in this. The detail in the towns, dialogue, and bosses was fantastic and I highly recommend this game if you are looking for a great RPG from the golden era.

The battle system is different than other RPGs but it works so well that it makes me wish more games did something similar. This game being available with it's sequel on the Switch makes it a lot easier to play this.

Terra Nil is pretty original in that you restore nature and fauna instead of building cities. When I played the Next Fest demo months ago I fell in love with the puzzle aspect to this and it's great to see how much has been added. It can get a little tricky if you aim to have nice looking maps but it does not mean much to the actual completion.

The negative I've seen many talk about is the length of the game and while it is short I did enjoy my time with the 8 maps. This is the kind of game that is just waiting for more content to get added and I'm curious to see where it goes next.

What I thought was just going to be a chill fishing game turned into more than just that. With a fun upgrade/research tree as well as interesting characters I had a lot of fun in this cosmic horror title. I geniunly enjoyed each of the islands and the variety they brought. I feel like the game was about the perfect length as well even after doing all side missions. I highly recommend this game if you like fishing minigames, cosmic horror, or sailing the wide open sea.

This was a game I had always wanted to see through the end but would constantly put it down for other games throughout the years. I'm glad I finally finished it as I can now see why so many love this title. From the platforming to the battles, everything just felt so good. Nothing really felt unfair and usually when I thought it did, it was just me needing to focus better.

If all folk tales were made like this I'd be happy. This has such a great atmosphere that really blends into the storytelling well. The bosses were interesting and the game as a whole never felt too difficult. It reminded me a lot of Little Nightmares meets Grimm's Fairytales.

I haven't played Return of the Obra Dinn so I can't compare it to that but if it's as good as this I am interested. Solving murder mysteries and discovering the lengths people go for power was fun in this game. It was never too hard finding the answers though there were some that made me scratch my head a little. I love this art style and overall really enjoyed this game

As someone who did not care much for Breath of the Wild I found myself really enjoying this one. While from a quick look it really looks like nothing much as changed but the experience of falling from a sky island down to the underground seamlessly was incredible given the console it's on.

For the gameplay I liked building stuff but never went too crazy into like many others, more just for what was needed and some dumb creations. I loved the added lore behind some of the side content and in a lot of ways I wanted to do all of the side stuff because the character's were interesting. The dungeons felt a lot better in this and underground was awesome, seriously one of my favorite parts of the game.

As a fan of the Trails in the Sky games I was excited to jump into this. Playing with a new cast was a bit weird at first but in typical Trails fashion you get some amazing character/world building. While Crossbell is smaller than Liberal(the region from the Sky games) the main city was bustling with life and I loved running around it.

The story had you follow an up and coming side police force tasked in helping the city. As the game goes on you learn more about the seedy underbelly and more. I liked it but it definitely was not as crazy as the first two Sky games. Everything else like the combat and mechanics are all the same as past titles so it was easy to get into.

Overall I really liked the game but I still thought the previous titles were better. Of course playing this and it's sequel add more to the lore of the world which I like so I'm just plugging away at the titles. You could start here as there are some nods to the past you can easily look online for what they mean.

Kena gave me that nostalgic enjoyment of classic PS2 adventure games but modernized in many ways. The story is very simple but plays along with the gameplay really well. While it's nothing revolutionary the ease of controls, beautiful areas, and sweet characters made this a really fun game. I'd love to see more like this.

2021

Quake was a franchise I missed back in the day as around the time it came out I didn't have a strong enough PC. I do have great memories of hanging out at LAN centers playing the multiplayer. I figured it was about time I gave the campaign a try and I was impressed. This game aged well especially when you compare newer boomer shooters to it. The OST is fantastic and the speed of this game feels great. I can't wait to play the sequel.

I thought the dlc was a great addition to the game. As a big fan of the base game when it first came out it felt good to replay it after all these years. The new content is funny and definitely did not feel out of place. I liked that you had to do a few loops of the base game first in order to start the new content.
