This is a fantastic remake of an excellent game. Firstly, speaking of the new things, the new graphics of the remake are pretty nice, though I also still love how the original game looks. Secondly, besides that, there are also new pipes added to the game, which in many cases really help with the backtracking, which was the one biggest problem I had with the original. Though those pipes don't completely fix the issue because in some chapters there's still some annoying backtracking, like in Chapter 5. But overall, it's definitely better than in the original game. Lastly, the remixed music was also pretty good, but I still prefer the original soundtrack, and in some cases, I don't think the new tracks fit that well with the area, like in Chapter 3. And I think it's pretty cool that they added new secret bosses.
Other than that, the battle system is still so much fun, I really love it and would love to see another game with this kind of battle system. Along with that, the wonderful world, the awesome characters, and the fantastic story, this is really a beautiful game.
So after all, I can say that Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is still one of my favorite games, and I really love it. I certainly had a great time with it again, and it's great that more people are able to enjoy this game now that it's on the Switch.

The Last Story
2011
The Last Story is a fantastic RPG on the Wii. I quite enjoyed the gameplay, the battle system was interesting and pretty fun, and the story, characters, and music were also all really good. Also, I definitely appreciate how the game has changing title screens depending on your progress in the game, I really love such things. So overall, I really liked The Last Story and can certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a great RPG on the Wii.
Persona 3 Reload
2024
Alright let's start this off right. I have played all versions of P3 before this and I have to say, overall, this is the best version of Persona 3. It did get a bunch of nice new things, but the budget for this game seems way more reasonable and lower scale than you might expect. It really does feel like the ultimate PS2 RPG in that respect. It's about as faithful of a remake you could possibly ask for. I had so much fun with this release, I tore through it in less than two weeks.
Seriously, everything's been remade to spruce up the P3 experience that oldheads can appreciate, and at the same time make people who started the series with Persona 5 comfy. I cannot believe it struck such a balance. The dev team put a lot of thought into everything.
What I like most about Reload is the quality of life improvements on the dungeons. The dungeon crawling is no longer is sloggish nightmare in order to get what you need (XP, Money, Personas). You only need to grind if you really want to to get ahead for the next cropping of sections. It really makes a world of difference being able to spend 2-3 hours in a cropping of floors getting what you need and then optimizing the next month with social links. I used to hate doing the dungeon parts of the game and now I easily see it as one of the best parts. Persona 4 could REALLY use this kind of balancing and quality of life upgrades.
It's only flaw is being too committed to original releases. The plot is pretty slow for the first few months. The Arcana Link side stories are not nearly as interesting. The S.E.E.S. crew is not nearly as interesting as the P4 or P5 crew. I am happy to report Junpei has been fixed to be your typical bonehead idiot than really obnoxious creep. Everyone else is more or less the same. My favorite link Maya is a blast from the past. She is cringe and uses 2005 1337sp34k. She is playing the long shut down Shin Megami Tensei MMO that the game admits was destroyed by World of Warcraft. She's an alcoholic who bitches to teenagers about how much her boss sucks. Definite wife material.
If you've played a Persona game before, I suggest cranking up that difficulty because by the end of the 3rd month I was fucking busted. The only real difficulty on Regular is people not knowing how the game wants you to play, and of course figuring out a certain monster's weaknesses. Thanks to Fuuka's abilities, you can figure out any creature's weakness right away. The only real challenging fights on a Regular level are the sponge-y creatures that have no weaknesses at all and is essentially a party item/SP drain, but from how dungeons work now you'll be loaded with minor healing items to get through most things without thinking twice.
Persona 5 Royal is a better game when it comes to interactions with characters and world-immersion, but Persona 3 Reload is just a better playing RPG that cuts out all the fat and gets to the shit you really want out of the rather old school dungeon stuff. All the new abilities and quality of life features make this a must play even if you have played Persona 3 before. If you are the brainrotted type who thinks Persona 5 is only RPG on the planet worth playing then you MIGHT be looking at your second ever RPG. Congratulations!
I cannot wait forThe Answer Episode Aigis in the fall. I cannot wait for the female MC route to come out even though its existence has been denied by devs, but you are fucking crazy if you believe them and think it's not happening. I am going to sell feet pics in 4K and probably going to have a good time doing it.

Animal Well
2024
This one might seem like a “less is more” kind of indie metroidvania, being made by a one-man army and having this minimalistic art style in a game with zero dialogue and combat.
This is misleading; minimalistic Animal Well is not. It is a complex, deep game made with dedication, care and the utmost intricacy.
It is a masterpiece in the sense that it creates this layered environment that 1. Leaves the player with complete freedom over how to experiment with its tools in order to progress through its elaborate world; 2. That in turns rewards them by making them feel clever by solving seemingly hard puzzles by themselves; 3. Said puzzles have different levels of depth for different kind of players, and they all get something out of it.
Animal Well’s secrets have secrets. And its secrets’ secrets also have secrets. And even though that might pressure some, it is made in such a way that allows for you to play through it your own way and finish it seeing only what you want to see.
There’s the puzzles for those who feel satisfied by just playing through the game and reaching the end credits; there’s puzzles for those who really want to see what the game can offer, requiring thorough exploration and attention to detail; and then there’s puzzles for the obsessive maniacs that analyze every single atom that is present in the many different biomes and try to make sense of the most minute of details, engaging in this community-wide search that will probably take months or even years to see through.
I’m on that second category, but I did have to ask a friend (google) for some hints to get through some of the brick walls in my progress. It gets THAT complicated.
Even with that, reaching the end of it was considerably fun, and while I don’t plan to help the community on the search for REDACTED, I definitely will be there when they inevitably get to the bottom of it all.

A nice change of pace from the other games in the franchise. I liked the focus on a different group of characters, and the change of pace in the gameplay. That being said, it's a little too generic and the characters are too one-note to truly stand out.
It was fun to play, but I don't think I'll be thinking about this one for a long time to come.

Pandora's Tower
2011
Pandora's Tower is a fantastic game, which I really loved and had much fun with it. The story is very interesting, the music is pretty nice (though there sadly aren't that many tracks), and I quite enjoyed the gameplay. In addition to that, the graphics look fairly good for a Wii game. Also, I totally liked Aeron and Elena, they were pretty good characters, in my opinion, and I liked their relationship. So, I can definitely recommend this game, and it has definitely become one of my favorite Wii games. Overall, Pandora's Tower was a genuinely great experience.
Hades

The Pokemon killer.
Great monster variety and the synthesis system is a ton of fun to mess around with. Grinding goes by quickly which encourages fusing monsters often, so you'll be mixing up your team constantly.
It's a little too easy to become disgustingly overpowered, though that's part of the fun. But there's surprisingly little content to put your team against in the main game. The tournament stages are braindead easy, I cleared every main stage with the same D rank team.
Main game might be short but there's a ton of additional content in the post game, which has some great fanservice for fans of the main series.
