Really wish this was 40 fantastic levels instead of 80 hit-or-miss levels. Still, a solid expansion overall and definitely better than Splatoon 2’s single player campaign.

(World of Light) Kotaku Splitscreen is a genuinely great podcast. I listen to a ton of video game related ones, but this might be the best. Highly recommended.

Just like with the first game, there really isn’t much to say about Bayonetta 2 that hasn’t been said already. The definition of a perfect sequel. My expectations for Bayonetta 3 are sky high, and I have no doubt that it’ll deliver.

This was a great, short metriodvania game with fantastic traversal! Some of the bosses were badly designed, though.

This was a crushing disappointment. Aside from the art, nothing about this was special. Gutted.

This was SUCH a weird game, and I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. Extremely weird.

First newly-released game of the year! The game takes very heavy inspiration from VA-11 HALL-A, but I think it does a few things even better than it. Really enjoyed my time with this one!

As good as everyone has said it was. Incredible game.

This was a nice little 3D platformer! Easily one of the best from the revival era!

I mean, what is there left to say about Bayonetta that hasn’t been said already? One of the greats and a fantastic choice for my first replay of the year!

This was fun! It felt kind of like an older Zelda game at times, and the art style is absolutely gorgeous!

I...did not like this at all. I thought the story was extremely predictable, and found the characters extremely boring. The only positives are the art style (which comes off as a poor man’s Device 6 to be honest, but it’s still cool) and the music. Disappointed.

Heard a ton about this game around when the Switch launched, it was touted as a hidden gem if I remember correctly. It was...fine? It’s fun, but very short and incredibly forgettable. Fun time-waster, I guess.

I have no idea how I missed this last year! This game was a giant surprise and not what I expected at all. Made me miss Hotline Miami even more!

Absolutely incredible gunplay, meh everything else. Good podcast game!
