You will never be able to call yourself a true gamer, if you haven't at least felt dumb once playing minesweeper in your life.

In Jusant we climb up a massive mountain and discover the remnants of a fallen civilization. It radiats a similar vibe as a Team ICO game: there is a lot of beauty despite the uninhabited and barren spaces. Without any form of combat the only enemies are the sun, cliffs and gravity.

While Jusant tries to be more than an automatic climbing experience familiarized by Assassin's Creed, the system still lacks a certain depth. But reaching new heights is often a reward in itself. It's a beautiful game with occasional moments of jank (stuck in places, weird animations).

All the Team ICO games directed by Fumito Ueda are one of kind. You are emotionally invested in a way that doesn't rely on words. The Last Guardian features a companion creature that is more lifelike than anything I've seen in other games. The catch is that its behaviour can be unpredictable which makes solving puzzles or doing platforming cumbersome. I recommend playing on a PS5 since it's a stuttering mess on an original PS4.

A 2D puzzle platformer in the same vein as Limbo and Inside, only much more colorful - and cheerful thanks to the cat-like side character. Unfortunately the platforming sections and the puzzle design do nothing to set this game apart from its inspirational predecessors in any meaningful way.

To make it short: RDR2 is THE best open world game that has been ever made, obviously by the studio that has been making THE best open world games out there. It's superior on all levels to all other games that claim to be open world and is only one of the very few that truly live up to the genre name.

The last campfire is a simple game about the will to stick through hopeless times and help others as well as yourself. It’s complimented with a sentimental soundtrack and a beautiful art style.
It runs well even on a dated phone like mine and the game somehow seems so well animated and fluid.
The puzzles are fun and mostly quite easy, but if the game had been even slightly longer, I’d probably have grown tired of the mechanics. So in being on the shorter side it avoided overstaying it’s welcome.

I’ve seen the logo of PT on the playstation store one day, as I was checking daily for new games to try out. A little check on Google didn’t really tell me anything about this game, but it had been just released that day and I thought fuck it, let’s go for it.
What happened in the next 2-3 hours was the most terrifying video game experience I ever had. I went on to show this demo to everyone I know, without telling them anything beforehand, as I wanted them to have the raw and jaw-dropping experience I had. And I played it over and over again. It’s a masterpiece in every sense of the word and spawned a multitude of indie horror games afterwards, that tried to recreate the ingenuity of it, but it was never reached imho.
I was super sad to hear the game got cancelled in the end, but in retrospective I think that only added to the legacy of it.

I've played this game with a group of friends, after being asked to do so for quite a time. I've never really enjoyed playing Werewolves IRL, so I didn't expect Among Us to catch me. And oh boy, was I right. After a couple of rounds of aimless wandering about and heated discussions afterwards, that were more exhausting than anything else, I had to quit. Just not my cup of tea.

This is the definitive Battle Royale game. The devs have managed to innovate the genre with new ideas and also delivered the most polished game out of the box. They do not offer new content in an unhealthy (for the devs) pace as epic games does, no matter the collaterals, but when they release something it is always working out quite well.
The core game, movement, guns, the maps, all of it feels well balanced and just right.
On top of that, this game has the least punishing and frustrating ranking system of them all and so I really stay engaged with the game while grinding. The only thing that is ok’ish, is the cosmetics part and the battle pass. Most of the stuff just doesn’t grab my attention the way that for example fortnite cosmetics do. But that’s one of a kind I guess.
