This is a 3D platformer with a really solid player controller. The challenges are often quite satisfying to overcome, and platforming around feels nice and intuitive. It's also got really funny writing.

The graphics are really on point and genuinely look era appropriate. If this game actually released on the N64 back in the day, we'd be talking about it alongside games like Banjo Kazooie.

Though the game isn't without its issues. I wish the game was longer (though the game only costs £5.89), but also I feel the level design sometimes lets it down. There's a few platforming challenges in this game that are made more difficult than they need to be, primarily because you're fighting with the camera.

I also really wish the soundtrack was better. It's got a fun and quirky tone, but it's far too repetitive and can get a bit grating. This would be alleviated if some of the songs had B sections that were more harmonically diverse.

In spite of these issues, I'd wholeheartedly recommend this game to any 3D platformer fans.

A pretty short and simple game that gets decent mileage out of its simple mechanics. This game feels like it could be from an alternate universe where they got 3D Sonic right on their first attempt back in the Saturn days.

I was incredibly close to bouncing off of this game in the first 10 hours, but I manged to soldier through. I'm mostly glad that I did, because while it's not a masterclass in world building and writing, there were still a lot of moments I enjoyed in this game.

The gunplay in this game is hands down the best Bethesda's ever done, and I don't see this aspect get praised very often. It was probably one of my favourite parts of the game.

One of my biggest gripes with this game is how tedious resource management felt. I found it difficult to interface with any of the ship building, base building, or crafting aspects of this game due to the laborious task of gathering resources, on top of being level gated for even buying various ship components. It gave me a frustrating level of friction with the game that I just avoided interacting with if I could help it.

I think one of my other biggest gripes with this game is how segmented the entire experience feels. I thought, going in, that it wouldn't bother me, but it really stopped this galaxy from feeling cohesive.

For a game about the vast expanse of space, this game feels oddly small. Their previous titles genuinely felt bigger, even though they technically weren't.
