Anti-Rencore

no particular order, but games, series, and genres/styles (see notes) that i severely dislike for one reason or another. i'm unlikely to enjoy games similar to them either but i try to reserve judgment until i've actually played stuff because for some reason i have an unbridled need to try touching fire. i dunno, every fire deserves a chance not to burn me or something

representative of jrpgs with atb systems except for chrono trigger
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
does not necessarily represent itself since sotn is fine, but more a representation of my "hipster tendency" of finding little good in games that have big reputations regardless of the game's size or scope, sometimes before i am even made aware of said reputations (several games on this list actually fall into this category!)
Fallout

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
representative of most 3d zelda, with this being used as its posterboy because i just straight-up dislike this one more than most of its peers
Monster Hunter
