If you like Rick and Morty or any other Justin Roiland output this might be your jam. The humor misses more than it lands for me but I did enjoy some of the subversions at play between certain set pieces, gameplay and gags.

It was a fun little playthrough but I didn't find really any value in doing much of the side content even though it seems that's where most of the biggest gags playout.

The main quest and bounty hunting scenarios are largely linear. There are choices to be made but they don't seem to matter by late game. I found the ending and last boss to be a letdown considering the lead up. There is a secret ending but I also found it to be a bit dry.

2.5/5.0

Love the updates to the Monster Hunter gameplay formula. Definitely more accessible than it used to be but Capcom should definitely still make better tutorials for newcomers.

Was the first chance I had to get my friends into MH. We ran out of steam and started playing other titles instead but I can see us coming back when the Sunbreak expansion hits.

Initially loved this game for what it was doing design wise, building off the ideas Arcane Studios had with the Dishonored series and Prey.

While still appreciating the beautiful design and complex system at play, the narrative, characters and ending haven't stayed with me as well I thought they would.

My GOTY for 2021. Best characters and story in any Marvel game, period (looking at you Marvel's Spider-Man). Also, low key the best art direction and visuals of the year.

One of the best games to explore and piss off your friends in. Also, the PS1 aesthetic of this game rules because it has the side effect of making the world seem that much bigger and more varied than you would expect.

An artistically uneven remake that only partially captures the feel of the original. That being said, the visuals are fantastic due to the graphical fidelity of the PS5. The absolute best part of this remake is the Storm King boss battle. This is the one shining part where everything comes together.

The video game version of honey dill sauce. Two game genres that shouldn't work together but are even better together. We have a tradition to play this game through every year!

The first time 10 year old me walked Link up to the clearing and pulled the Master Sword from the stone I knew that video games were going to be my thing for the rest of my life.

One of the best 2D fighting games of all time. Absolutely timeless in gameplay design, systems and structure. Every button press and every movement feels like perfection.

The first game I played that made me feel that video games can be more than the sum of their visual, interactive and auditory parts. An unparalleled piece of art. A true masterpiece.

The best Battle Royale game, period!
