Same thoughts that I had on my review of the the 1993 version of doom, just even better.

To be honest I don't know where to start with this. It's classic, fun, replayable, and overall the best fun I have ever had playing a video game. It's ironic how even though it was one of the earlier popular fps games, it's better than most fps games that are released now a days that try to prioritize realism, dumb mechanics, and worlds, when fun should really be put first or at least a major thing to be focused on. That's what doom does, and does great at that. Most of the enemies are balanced for this game, the weapons are fun and reliable, the maps are fun, Is the game realistic? Hell no, you don't reload, the maps make no sense in terms of logic and aren't realistic, and yet that's because they really cares about the pure fun of the game. I'm really glad to have played this game because it opened up my eyes on how a game should try to be. I'm not saying every game should be doom. I'm saying that games should try to make the player actually have fun.

I got to be honest about this game, it has not aged that well as people say, it's an amazing game sure but some stuff have just really been improved in future games in the franchise. Dungeons/Temples in this game while fun, don't really have that feeling of exploration as some of the other 3D Zelda games, and heck even some of the 2D games. Overworld is nice but at the same time I wish there was more, especially in terms of content, Hyrule field is a decent overworld that links to other places like Zora's domain, kakariko village, and Hyrule Castle. I feel like it's still great to maybe start out with if you haven't played Zelda before, and in the first playthrough it truly is notable, but after playing it again a few times and playing other Zelda games, I feel a bit tired by this game that it will probably be a while until I play it again.
