A (nearly) perfectly paced game. Masterfully translated the atmospheric exploration of the 2d metroids into the 3d dimension.
1
Just as good as its predecessor in many ways, though the key hunting can be a bit of a slog. The light/dark worlds add a good deal to the exploration and even add a bit of difficulty at times.
2
The best feeling metroid game ever made. Flawless movement, fantastic combat. Exploration leaves something to be desired, and the plot retcons are kind of comical.
3
Short and sweet. Another fantastically paced game that doesn't overstay its welcome, though the stealth sections can be a bit irritating at times.
4
What put metroid on the map. The pinnacle of the Metroid series' devotion to open level design, but at times it can be a bit TOO open. Wonky jumping physics also knock it down a peg.
5
Disappointingly linear for a Metroid game, with tons of artificial progress gates. Movement and controls are just as snappy as Zero Mission, even if the level design isnt quite as good. Has an actual plot, a rarity for a 2d metroid game.
6
The conclusion to the Metroid Prime Trilogy loses sight of what made the first two games great. Very linear level design and game progression. Some very nice setpieces, especially for a wii game, and probably the best bosses in the trilogy.
7
Quake 3 is pretty cool isn't it
8
a barebones skeleton that super would build an actually engaging game out of
9
A pseudo-collectathon running on the original gameboy. Other games in the series have handled oppressive atmospheres far better without compromised game design.
10
No explanation necessary. This game is offensively bad in every conceivable category.
