A competent horror game that aims to please fans of B-movie slashers, that takes it time to flesh out most characters so that you want them to survive at the end. The closest I ever got to loving an 'interactive movie', which seemed like a genre I'd never get into until now, which is the biggest praise I can give it!

Also Sam is the best character out of all of them, this is an objective statement that leaves no room for argument!!

Playing it by yourself won't wow you, but it is by no means awful.

Get a friend (or nephew, in my case) to join in and prepare for some great times, because that really feels like this game's intended way to play.

A masterfully crafted love letter to everything science fiction, both eastern and western, told as an intricate story mixing timelines, characters (13 of them, as the title suggests) and locations which are shown to you through Vanillaware's signiture style. How this game managed to keep its story straight while also giving you free reign over which character to play first( and finish first) and getting a peek at the ending through the battle system (which chronologically takes place at the end of the story) is beyond me. The only drawback is its aforementioned battle system, which is engaging but definitely feels like an after-thought.

Please buy this game and give it a try, Vanillaware deserves the love and it will be a clear message that these kind of stories deserve to be told!
