While there is a great follow up sequel underneath, this clearly feels like it was rushed out before it was polished towards the end of the PS1 life cycle. It introduces really cool and fun concepts, but never fully realizes most of them.

Replaying this game is now one of my new Halloween traditions, and this run particularly was even more gratifying because I managed to get the 100% items trophy. Next year I'll probably go for the speedrun / challenge modes!

The "end" of Kazuma Kiryu's saga is a bit of a mixed bag for me. The Dragon Engine feels like a dream come true gameplay-wise and aesthetically, but the overall story felt kinda rushed and weird, even though it did tug at the heart strings.

While I thoroughly enjoyed how batshit hilariously insane this concept was executed on a narrative and thematic level, I can't say too much of the same about the game. It suffers hard from 7th gen jank and wonky controls.

Rich with content, fantastic soundtrack, a heartwarming story and stellar cast of characters, and the most polished gameplay of the series thus far. I think this is up there with Chrono Trigger and P4G & P5R for me.

My 2022 GOTY, bar none.

Still my favorite video game of all time. Gameplay may not necessarily be perfect, but the art direction, music and atmosphere for this remake are still stunning, and the humor and story still engage me, even on my 5th playthrough.

After firing and missing with several Dark Pictures games, Supermassive finally has a worthy successor to Until Dawn.

Half of my entertainment came from the accidentally hilarious animation, but they nailed the 80's slasher horror film vibe in this game.

It's somehow even less of a game than Goofy's Fun House is. And the worst part, it's a Tiny Toons game and it's not even funny.

An absolute waste of time.

2022

A delightfully short but sweet post-apocalyptic game, only this time you're a cat. Nearly suffers from a slow middle point most great games suffer from but is paced evenly to keep that from happening and is wildly entertaining, especially if you're a cat lover.

While still a great time and has some improvements compared to Resident Evil 2's remake, it pales in comparison to it. A bit too short, not as evenly paced, and Nemesis as a boss got really boring after a while.

While great to see more of these characters again and I'll never tire of the Warriors gameplay, it's still wild to me they went with an AU story, but it was one I enjoyed...up until the very last minute.

Evidently I'm a horrible millennial as I have never ever played this game until this year.

While aspects of it (the camera) have not aged particularly well, it's easy to see why this became the gold standard bearer for 3D platforming video games.

While not the best 3D Mario platformer out there, this was my first ever and I still have fond memories of it, and found it still enjoyable on the 3D All-Stars collection, despite some of the strange glitches and depth perception issues.

What else can I say? I wanted more Cuphead, I got more Cuphead. And the art and animation behind it is even better than ever!

Not looking too forward to those optional boss fights, though.

To warm up for Cuphead DLC's difficulty, I tried my hand at the final boss again after ragequitting 4 years ago, and shockingly succeeded.

It earned it's reputation title as one of the hardest games, but damn if it isn't FUN!
