Remaking a masterpiece is a huge task. Black Mesa gets mixed results.

Graphics and Physics are really sweet, i like what they did with revolver and pistol. Some sections are really well made too. Horror parts are especially done well. I like Xen's art style. Some boss battles are more epic and creative in this remake compared to original.

First problem with this remake is its way too easy. Weapon balance is really ruined. I really don't liked the atmosphere too, the original game has so many darkness and shadows for example, this game is so bright and takes so much mystery from the game. Some puzzles are way too long, Xen part executed so badly. So much shooting gallery and dumb puzzles. I really don't like the additions on that level at all.

I only recommend this to people that cant play half-life because of graphics or, if you are desperate to play more half-life. It still has quality level design of original half-life so still a great game. Cool for a fan project i guess.

Great package. Lovely nazi zombies mode, great campaign and decent pvp multiplayer. Great variety of levels but not good as 360 era halo games. I always found CoD overrated but this is one of the best ones and really good shit

im a fan of the original games but this feels too average. I liked some of the things he added, like ice cream powerups and new abilities. Main flaw of the game is level design is painfully dull. Liked stages for unlockables tho. Good that he added Original games remaster as a bonus tho. That games have special place in my heart

Fun to play coop, good modern L4D clone with rpg progression and stealth elements. Levels are nice to look at and mostly doesn't bore you like most L4D clones. Also levels have variety. Sometimes you hold a place against waves, sometimes you run and gun your way, sometimes you need to sneak. Perks system, class system and weapon level-up system offers some rewards for player. Personally i think Killing Floor games have better rpg elements but those games have mediocre level design so they mostly bore me. It's a decent game overall

This is pretty much a lesson on how to not remaster a game. Awful art style, Pop-ins that gives me headache, Shooting system is somehow worse than originals. It doesn't even add modern control or UI to the games. I don't even care about performance issues in launch day nowadays but it even sucked on that. It literally looks like ReShade mods lmao. Also stop asking for full retail prices for old game remasters ffs

This game is good and disappointing at same time. On paper, i gotta love this. Pretty much like Sid Meirer's Pirates! in space. This got a great variety of planets with unique sociologic backgrounds, good ship variety and upgrade system, Good quest templates to keep you busy.

Problems of this game is, Mining is so easy and so rewarding financially that you dont even need to do any risky jobs. Combat and actual gameplay is average. Jump system is neat but breaks the fluidity of gameplay and felt almost like a RPG random encounters. The main stoty missions are good but very bland. Also when you're playing the POV lights are so bright that it gives me headache.

I really wanted to like this cause i love Pirates! and i love Freelancer. On first glance this feels like a good modern adaptation but i keep forcing myself to play a game that isnt that much fun. It's a decent but not very special

Very good game but genesis port is very inferior. Makes easier to play and graphics are very improved compared to original but gameplay is very clunky and feels so meh. I recommend playing original if you wanna feel old-school or Live the Life remake if you want a modern rendition

Do yourself a favor and play the superior Genesis version

Average indie platformer with somewhat decent level design. Don't get the praise at all, i can understand someone praising this during the defining years of indie platformers (2008-2012 era), but right now after all games that almost perfected the genre in the last decade, this feels just average. It doesn't even stack up against classic platformers too. Level design are inconsistent, there aren't much alternative ways to get collectibles, there is no creative gimmick, story is absolute borefest, chasing levels are just annoying and not hard. I can say controls are almost perfect tho, soundtrack is very well done too

Zero mission is a successful remake of original Metroid. On paper it seems really amazing, Super Metroid's QoL upgrades on original Metroid is a great idea. Its flawed tho, it suffers from boring exploration, lack of boss fights, annoying decision to put healing centers and save stations in separate places and last level was so boring. I never complain about soundtracks but wow, one of the most monotone and uninspired soundtracks ive ever heard in a AAA game. I know some of the issues come from original game and mostly they can do nothing about it but it's still there, gotta mention

Still this is the best way to experience the original Metroid, it plays, looks and feels nice. Fusion is on the same console and miles ahead of this BTW

play Zero Mission instead since its a near perfect remake and reimagination

Rough start but lots of great things about Zero is on here. Perfect controls, elf system, that satisfying Z saber. More exploration and RPG systems compared to any other mega man games. The depressing and dark tone and great worldbuilding for a 2D platformer. Hot damn it's so much fun to dash and slice and shoot stuff and boss battles are amazing.

Overall back-tracking and stupidly hard sections makes this one a chore to play sometimes. Missions are also kinda boring. The progression system is very limited too. Thankfully, this is by far the worst Zero game

This is a huge improvement over the NES Castlevania trilogy. Better controls, graphics, and boss battles. Lots of different stage designs to keep you amazed. I don't like that it ditched multiple layouts and unlockable characters that Castlevania III introduced.

Very fair game, maybe even a bit too easy before we got into the castle, possibly because although the game now gives you more options, the game design didn't actually give you new challenges. you can pretty much whip any direction so nothing actually harms you. The only challenging part are bosses, That boss rush towards the end can eat my shit tho.

Lovely game but not good as III and Rondo of Blood imo. Still i love the variety of levels and overall fun I've had

The best platformer on Sega Genesis. Yes, it's better than Ristar, Sonic and Castlevania: Bloodlines. Fantastic jetpack gimmick, great boss battles, a great variety of gameplay. It also has fair difficulty, even on hard mode. Konami really perfected every genre imaginable in 16-bit eta

Definitely not top tier and a bit overrated shmup but fun. kinda bored me but it's short so doesn't get that tedious
