It's more Tales of Arise. And that's an incredibly good thing. The story was also pretty good. Not as good as the main game, but decent enough to where I was caring at the end of it.

Is it worth $30? I don't think so. I got about 10 hours worth of gameplay doing 100% of everything and luckily I picked this up on sale for $20. I think that is the perfect price for it.

Long story short, I liked it a lot, it's dlc worth playing.

I've played this enough now I think I can leave my thoughts on it.

I like this game. Base game is super good, fun with friends, and I play at least twice a month for a couple of hours. It's a good, quick, easy to learn co-op game and it can be extremely silly at times.

However, modding this game is where I think I have the most fun. I've been in a lobby with about 16 people and that was one of my favorite times playing this game. The chaos that brought was amazing. And there are so many dang mods for this game now.

So to summarize, it's a great game to play with friends, base game can be fun, modded is even better, and I hate monsters and I yell at every one of them.

Just don't try playing it alone. It's not fun to do so.

Played via the Castlevania Collection on Switch.

Castlevania 2 has some pretty impressive ideas for the time. I like the day and night cycle, I like talking to villagers, I like exploring and figuring everything out. However, I still like Castlevania 1 just slightly more.

Simon's Quest had me opening up a guide towards the end. I like the simplicity of Castlevania 1 more. And that's a personal taste preference, I fully admit that.

Castlevania II is still a solid game, I just wished I enjoyed it more.

Played this via the Castlevania Collection.

I own the game on a cartridge but I never in my life beat it. Sitting down with my Switch in hand, I just decided to casually play it. Kicked my ass at first but then I finally got it. Only took me 30 years but it clicked with me and I beat it. I finally got to defeat Dracula.

It's a classic for a reason, and it's challenging, but I think I appreciate it more now. I know, fake fan and all, but I had a fun time.

Still hate getting knocked back into bottomless pits however!

2023

Decent enough racing sim but be sure to log into your EA ACCOUNT for the battle pass that's free! But hey if you want to you can buy the VIP BATTLE PASS! Wouldn't that be swell.

Also the story mode faces will haunt me in the darkness please send help.

Princess Peach Showtime is a smaller in scope game and I love it for that. Peach's many different outfits and gameplay ideas are neat. It's cool to see a game focus on these small experiences and have them all be fairly fun to play.

Small annoyance is if you miss a collectible, you have to play the whole level over again. And a lot of those have in engine cutscenes that can't be skipped. It doesn't waste a lot of time but it can add up.

I recommend it if you are looking for the perfect game to play in short bursts. Plus it's cool seeing Peach star in her own game again.

This game shows a lot of promise for a boomer shooter. Episode 1 is fun!

Episode 2 and 3, not so much.

I know it's early access and there are two more episodes still to be made, but I'm not sure how those will turn out. I'm hoping the game doesn't turn out to be a dud at least.

Despite myself not enjoying the survival horror genre of games, I had a friend who would not stop talking about how great this game is. Always reminded me that it was a good game and how much they loved it.

Said friend gifted me the game. And I started playing it, and once I got going, I couldn't stop. This story is so addicting, I just wanted to see it all. Then it became 1AM and whoops I beat it!

The game didn't creep me out as much as I thought it would, but it left me with feeling a sense of bleakness. I think that can be it's own horror if done right, and Signalis does it right.

Fighting all the creatures felt good enough. Calculating what to kill, what not to kill, what to burn so it doesn't come back later, do I even want to waste any materials to do any of that... feels like standard survival horror. It's done very well and that added to my enjoyment.

I had a good time playing it and I'm sure I'll be thinking about that story for a long while.

River City Girls 2 improves on the previous game and I think it's one of the more fun beat em ups I have played recently. There are some minor annoyances that I ran into, game glitched out a few enemies, had them stuck in a wall. I don't like not being able to save anywhere either. It's not that hard, but running to a safe house every time when I need to quit is a bit annoying.

Combat feels good! I really loved Marian's move set. She can absolutely destroy everything with ease.

Story is just as silly as last time. You aren't getting a masterclass of narrative but it works for the game and that's all it needs.

So long story short, I liked the game, hope they make more!

This is a near perfect game. No joke. I can't imagine playing a video poker style game like this ever and it not be Balatro from now on. I don't even like video poker!

Each run is more addicting than the last and I just want to keep unlocking more Jokers to see what dumb things they do!

Help me, please.

Arzette is short, but it's so enjoyable and charming. It had me laughing so much. The voice acting and cutscene animation is spot on for what they are parodying. Also it plays so much better than any of the cdi games it's taken inspiration from. I never once felt frustrated playing it.

Also some of the characters are legitimately designed so well. And even the boss fights can be hilarious at how you beat them.

Very very good and unique little game.

Phenomenal dlc. I was so addicted, I just 100% did everything you could in Side Order. Rougelikes are very hit or miss for me but this nails it. It's fun, can be challenging, and after each run I just wanted to go again.

Plus all the stuff you can unlock for your locker/gear is pretty neat. Little bit of lore buried in here as well.

Time to do another run. Or 10.

This game kicks so much ass.

The idea that everything is timed to the beat of the music in an action game like this is just so cool. Everything just feels good to pull off, and once I got the hang of it, I was pulling off 200+ combo chains like it was nothing.

I love every character you team up with. They are so memorable and just plain fun to interact with. Having them also be used for special moves was a good call. It feels incredibly satisfying to hit the call in button at the right time to nail a special with your partners.

Mild spoiler:
I will say, story at the end, kind of a bummer. It's not bad, just feels like it doesn't fit the theme of a bunch of people rising up against a corporation. But that doesn't take away from the rest of the game too much.

I will be going back to this and playing it more in the future.

I really wanted to like this one, I really did, but it's at best a very basic Sonic game.

I do appreciate some of the levels and the music can be quite good, but I found myself very annoyed at level gimmicks. Gimmicks can be fun, but there are so many of them. And they waste your time. Wait for this, wait here, don't move, spin slowly in a circle. Older Sonic games have the same types of gimmicks but they flow so much better than they do here.

Boss fights also suffer from this problem. My classic Sonic brain tells me I can exploit bosses if I am fast enough to do so, but here, nope. Wait, hit boss, wait, hit boss. It's slow. I did not come to Sonic games to be slow. Mania had a couple bosses like this, but this game, every boss is like this. And it sucks. At least Mania didn't waste as much of my time with waiting.

Trip is pretty neat as a new character. Love their design, maybe they'll come back in another game who knows.

It's not a bad game, trust me. It's not a great game either. It's right down the middle where Sonic games usually sit.

I knew next to nothing about Granblue Fantasy. I had this game on my radar, but I held off on buying it. I got gifted it for my birthday and now I may be a Granblue person. This game is super fun.

It's not a super deep fighter, but you don't need that to be good. Doing combos feels fantastic. The presentation is top notch as well. That Fall Guys ripoff is so dang silly it exists and I can appreciate a game making a weird side mode for the heck of it.

Also Yuel is my main. I love her.
