I should hate this game, but I don't.
For the longest time, I considered the original Battle for Bikini Bottom to be my all time favorite video game. I obviously don't think that anymore but it is definitely the game I have the strongest connection towards and it's also the game that makes me the most happy when I play it. I've avoided playing the Rehydrated version for the longest time because I was worried it would tarnish the memories I had of the original game. Having now finally played it, I do have some problems with Rehydrated, mostly stemming from the fact that the Switch probably isn't the best way to play it, but goddamn. I just cannot hate this game. Any weird changes in design or control such as sliding or the bubble bowl, I just adapted towards and I found myself really respecting how everything works. I probably prefer the original but I still had an absolute blast playing this game.

(Except for the mermalair ball puzzle. That still sucks even 19 years later)
